The New Islamabad International Airport is a 3,600 acre international airport that is being built to serve the capital city of Islamabad, nearby city of Rawalpindi other areas around the capital of Pakistan. This airport will replace the existing one located in Rawalpindi. This new airport is located in Fateh Jang, which is 30 km south-west of the city. Construction of the airport began in April 2007, after a decade long postponement. It is expected to be completed and operational in approximately three years. It will then take all the commercial flights that are currently operating out of the Islamabad International Airport. The airport will be named New Benazir Bhutto International Airport after the assasinated Prime Minister.
After US , India is also planning to expand its embassy in Islamabad. Strange, I was hardly gulping the fact that US is expanding its embassy (to be its biggest in any country) and we have our wiley neighbours following suit. Not Good. After giving 58 acres of land to the US Embassy, the Indian Embassy in Islamabad has also been allotted 10-acre land for its expansion.
The Indian Embassy will construct more offices as well as residences on the land, provided to it in the Diplomatic Enclave. Besides that, Indian commandos and security guards would be deployed at the Embassy for security purpose.
It has been learnt that the land has been given after a request by New Delhi. However, a government department had made provision of land conditional to some steps. Highly-placed government sources said it is not an unusual thing. Keeping in view modern day requirements, the Indian request was accepted and “we are well aware of the situation”, they said. If you look closely, there is a serious effort to destabalize Pakistan. Targetted killings with each target carefully chosen and executed, who can carry on with such immaculate plans , i wonder who? Gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying Pakistan’s religious affairs minister , wounding him and killing his driver.
The attack on Hamid Saeed Kazmi took place close to his office in Islamabad. Kazmi has been critical of the Taliban and other militants blamed for scores of attacks in Pakistan over the last 2 1/2 years.
According to Geo News correspondent, two miscreants riding a motorbike fired gunshots at the minister and managed to escape the scene. The federal minister received gunshot in his knee. However, according to hospital sources, the minister is being operated upon at the Emergency; he is out of danger.
It should be mentioned that Aabpara Police Station is situated nearby; however, no high police personnel approached on the scene.

Everyday when i go to Islamabad, i come across the PPP flags attached to every pole or any high rising tower on all important roads and chowks. In the beginning, the site of PPP flag seems acceptable as i thought that i have to undergo the torture of seeing the flags for few days but PPP proved me wrong. The PPP flags are at display for the past two months and seeing them everyday has now become a serious torture to my eyes and soul. Since i hate PPP, its a torture to my eyes but when i didn’t see any Pakistani flag at display on 14th August, 2009, the site of PPP flags have now become a torture for my soul as well.
At first i thought i am the only one with this mindset but soon i realized that there are hundreds and thousands of other fellow patriotic Pakistani citizens who have a serious objection over this act of PPP. They have already made their parties as their private fiefdom but i never expected them to make the whole country as their private land where they can do anything that they wish to do. The same PPP government has objection when BLA stops Baluchis from raising Pakistani flags in Baluchistan but they are doing the same in the Capital city of Pakistan without any objection.
There is a newly created Facebook group with the name of “Plz Remove PPP Flags from Islamabad Streets” by Saad Umair and Junaid Ahmed.
The group has already gathered over 200 supporters in few days and the word is fast spreading among other concerned citizens who are joining it to raise their peaceful protest. [click to continue...]

I remember in our times, you had to wait for the result to reach your college or you need to have some insider contacts in Board to ask them for the results. Even few shops used to charge Rs. 10 per result. things are improving but i must confess at a very slow rate. I was lucky though since i got my result in the newspaper being a position holder (a lil self praise)
I strongly believe that the Islamic system of justice has a lot of benefits to the society. I have been reading the newspapers like all the Pakistani readers and i always feel depressed after wards since it is filled with horrifying stories.
Few weeks back i read the story of a young girl who was brutually raped in the outskirts of Islamabad and near the famous Barri Imam shrine. The girl was a minor and i think approx 8 years old. She has little idea of how mad this world has become lately and she trusted a person who offered her free ice cream and candies. She never knew that the mad dog will rape her and subsequently result in her death.
The IG Islamabad constituted a special investigation group to unearth the culprits of the crime. I was not expecting that the culprit would be caught but Islamabad police have proved me wrong as today they broke the news of the arrest of the rapist and killer of the young girl. Now i wonder that the person has been caught, how our legal system will punish him? Will he also be able to take advantage of our complex legal system and delayed justice? Will he be punished for few years behind the bars and later on allowed to enter the society to rape and kill another girl?
I think this is not the appropriate justice for such a heinous crime. A person committing such a crime should be publicily punished in the same locality where he committed the crime and his body should be displayed for a day to make him an example worth it.
I know what i just said will be criticized by our angels sitting in the Human Rights Groups because they care about the rights of dogs and cats but not of the person who has been raped and will continue to get raped just because we can not give punishment to the persons committing such crimes. Humans are by default animals if not governed by a set of laws and beliefs. The world history is full of it and i don’t need to repeat them for you. The instant justice system will stop the potential rapists from ever daring to commit such crimes. The daughter of a poor father enjoys the same love from her parents and siblings as that of our influentials and rich. I am not a father myself but i can feel the pain of holding your daughter in your arms who died because a mad dog used her to satisfy his lust. How can someone feel pity for such a rapist? At least i don’t!
It is time that we should start coming out with the instant justice system else we will witness the whole country turn into Swat where the people wanted a speedy justice system since they were sick of the traditional system where only the cases of rich and influential are heard on first priority while the poor men is left out. It’s time to change and the first form of change is that we recognize right from wrong.

The briefing given to the Senate by Advisor to Prime Minister for Interior Rehman Malik disclosed some serious problems that our beloved country Pakistan is facing from its arch enemy India and the cold war rival Russia. Both these countries are actively involved in fueling insurgency in the province of Baluchistan. Russias are taking revenge for their cold war defeat at the hands of American allies in Pakistan. While today the same Americans are indirectly helping the Russians through their Afghan allies. The Americans have never been a good friend of any country in the world except Israel and have proved it time and again. The short history of Pakistani nation is filled with so many instances when our so called American allies abandoned us.
The Indians and Russians have proved their alliance and today they are both busy in destabilizing Pakistan through the puppet government of Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan. In this scenario, Talibans can be considered our allies by default since the Afghan Talibans are the only force fighting the war against all three of our enemies. The terrorists operating in Pakistan are not Talibans and hence they should not be counted as Afghan Talibans whose only reason for Jihad is to liberate Afghanistan from the Americans and its allied nations. In return the enemy troika has make their own version of Talibans inside Pakistan to keep our armed forces busy and to turn aruond the public opinion against the true Talibans who just fight the western invaders in Afghanistan.
