Saudi Arab and India - New Diplomatic Friends

by Usman Zahid on March 2, 2010

In the recent geopolitical front the development of friendship between Saudi Arab and India is being looked at very closely. Indians got an overwhelming welcome by the Saudi’s; the entire royal cabinet was present at the airport to welcome the Indian P.M; an honor previously enjoyed by China and France only. Such a start to a PM of country who was visiting after 28 years was certainly an eye-opener for Pakistanis. It is not an eye-opener because Indians are visiting but because an enemy is trying to take away an elder brother. I know there are no permanent friends or foes in foreign policy of a country but certain things are ground realities and that are hard to change. [click to continue...]

Pakistan vs India: Live Streaming Hockey Worldcup

by Owais Ehsan on February 28, 2010

Hockey is the national sport of Pakistan. Over the years popularity of this once thriving sport is going sharply down, mainly due to the poor performance of Asian teams. However this is a new begining. The old foes, once the masters of the game, will clash on the opening day in a marquee match that organisers claim had been sold out at the 19,000-seater Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Rest assured all the glamour of the 70s and 80s will be coming back when the old rivals face each other in an epic opening match. Never a hockey match between India and Pakistan has attracted such hype as this time. So lets hope its a great spectacle.

Rehan Butt the Pakistani stalwart has the following to say on this crucial opening match of the world cup;

The match against India will be indeed very important. India are a good side but we are ready for it. The 1-1 draw against Canada is not important as we didn’t play a full-strength side. I had injured my shoulder during a practice session before the match, while Akhtar (Ali) was also hit by ball. So team management tried different combinations as it didn’t want to put too much strain on us before the India match.

We at Pro-Pakistan , will bring all the Pakistan matches live here. Pakistan’s first match will be followed by a match against Spain on March 2. The greenshirts then play England on March 4, South Africa on March 6 and their last group match against Australia on March 8. So do visit us on match day and we will ensure all the Pakistani matches are shown here.

Indian Army Says It’s Ready for War with China and Pakistan

by Usman Zahid on January 1, 2010

In a report in the Indian newspaper it has been claimed by the Indian army that they are preparing for a war on two fronts i.e. China and Pakistan. In the report it has been concluded that Indian army has started to work with Indian Air force and Navy for optimum achievement of goals and has also launched several joint operations to enhance the precision of the joint team. The report has also mention that the change in Indian army thinking and preparing for such a war is being led by Lt. General A S Lamba who is heading the Shimla-Based Army Training command in India.

This change has been brought about due to the ever increasing security challenges faced by the Indians. It is important to mention here that India has an army of around 1 million which has been active for some time in war games.

The shift in Indian army’s strategy came after the shooting incident on the parliament in the year 2001; in which it took more than a month for the Indian army to mobilize and deploy the troops on its border against Pakistan. Under the new strategy Indian army’s primary motive is to deploy troops in no time, hold and take positions at the earliest and this strategy has been termed as, ‘Cold Start Strategy’. Fall of Dhaka: East Pakistan becomes Bangladesh

by Usman Zahid on December 18, 2009

16th December will always be a black day for Pakistanis, because it is the same day when a part of Pakistan became an independent country called Bangladesh. A lot has been said and inquiries have been performed to find out the exact reason for the separation of East-Pakistan but there seems no valid answer for it. A number of reasons contributed in the Dhaka debacle. The part of Pakistan that; out shined every other province in its contribution to the exports and foreign currency of the country and yet was the most under-privileged.

An important point here to remember is that India played a very important part in the great debacle. A dictator with his rusty mind was not willing to give up the power - a certain trait mark of a Pakistani dictators and current politicians.

Current country is not our Quaid’s Pakistan, with every passing day we are weakening the roots of this strong nation. It has always been the stubbornness of individuals sitting at the top that have divided this nation; whether mentally or geographically.

Why have we not brought the then rulers whether military or civil to courts and hanged them even if they were dead? Why have we not deported their families and taken away the Pakistani nationality? What was the fault of those 90,000 vigilant men of Pakistan Army that were left high and dry at the disposal of enemy in the form of ‘Prisoner of Wars’, where my country men were mentally and physically tortured! Scar Soul

by Ahson Malick on December 16, 2009

Sun of surrender finally has risen again and its about to fall in moments, his shine was narrating a tale of pain and agony whole day and was causing the most uncomfortable feelings one could ever experience , When one gets impair or hurt physically he gets a wound, but when soul gets a wound it becomes scar, because bodies can heal and rehabilitate, span of soul’s suffering is some times undying, for the reason that soul’s scar just won’t heal, body parishes but soul remains so is the wounds it takes, it stays in and remind its host about it’s existence every now and then.

When one revisit Dhaka fall in profound manner he tends to focus more on the blunders committed by Pakistani establishment in background of political scenario which eventually led Pakistan to the most catastrophic incident of its history, thing most of the time people miss is burden of that event, which has caused the most astonishing jolt, haunted the extreme romanticism people relate with idea behind the creation of Pakistan, it was a disagreeable lumber on a core of an entire generation, a generation which saw the dream came true and then later felt that dream which they bloomed with their blood and sweat has died and only thing remain was the eternal pain, it’s quite right to state that it’s a saddle, a really bitter and sore one, From 16 December 1971 to 16 December 2009, it’s a long crossing, a long trip to the memory lane, a passage started well before most of us, every year 16 December brings some thing that I always wanted it to downright, a grudge which is hidden within, a hideous reality one has to face, which some times we try to neglect under blurring lies and egotistical manners of stating the emotions like it was some thing bound to happen and things like east Pakistan was not exactly the part of the idea or tales narrating a alleviate that it was something imperative that had happened for our good, one can’t hide himself behind a fairy tale, it can be done for sometime but certainly it can’t be done forever, Only by revealing the whole truth can we disclose the spirit of this ailing bulwark, behind which we are sitting smother and placid as it was nothing, just another page of history we tend to over look each day we explore such entity, nothing but a routine, but it’s not, I met many people who are carrying this same resent and come to conclusion that certainly I am not alone who is holding this scar, there are many, it’s a reality which took ages, it’s been a long time coming but it finally has, it’s really a long hard pale of passed past on the one’s inside which is still recurring and constantly staying deep inside and providing evidence of its existence, it’s a debt this band of scar souls owe, debt of tears, blood and dreams, tears of Noor-ul-Amin(last vice president of Pakistan) on the door steps of Quaid’s tomb and tears of millions others, blood shed of Pakistanis Bengalis and non Bengalis alike, dreams of coming generation who later came to know that dream which they are holding so dear has already witnessed a phantom agony, those were satins earlier, which later become scars, scars of those tears, splashes of those blood and dreams have obsessed these souls for long long time, obsessed will not be the right word, it has haunted them, it has been a long time coming now one should look for a cure.

If someone attempts to review the whole scenario of Dhaka Fall he will come to know that it was us who are to be blame for it, other stake holders only manipulated the created backdrop. Someone did it on the name of unwanted refugees and some one contributed on the excuse of cold war, it was more of a political matter which was imprudently handled by the establishment of United Pakistan, Bengalis were denied of their fundamental rights under suppressing dictator ship. Dhaka Fall was designed and planned out side as well as inside, Political establishment which was strongly intermingled with military mindset handled former East Pakistan with unwillingness and like a saddle to be thrown off, there was major lack of balance in the approach on the political level, either it was extreme hardliners like JI which overwhelmingly tried to made it look like a battle of good and evil and supported military operation in former East Pakistan which [click to continue...]

by MJK on November 29, 2009

Recently, Indian Prime Minister raised some serious questions about the security of Pakistani Nuclear Sites in his discussion with media during his visit to United States of America. According to Hindustran Times:

Manmohan Singh expressed his concern and worry about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, and the possibility of it falling into wrong hands.

“We worry about these contingencies. But, we have been assured by the United States, the Americans,” said Singh.

Indian Prime Minister left no stone unturned to fully utilize his visit to US to malign Pakistan. However, few days after the tall claims  [Source: Hindustan Times] made by Indian PM, India authorities were forced to sound an alarm for possible terrorist attack on their nuclear site. According to Times of India story:

The Centre (India) has on the basis of fresh intelligence input put nuclear installations across the country on high alert. Though the input is specifically meant for Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Trombay (Mumbai), the alerts have been sent to all the states having nuclear plants. They have been asked to step up patrolling and vigil around the facilities as a precautionary measure.

Besides putting BARC on highest alert, the government has also directed the Navy, Coast Guard and all other security agencies to take precautionary measures to protect such installations as most of them are located on the coast.

India’s Hidden Face in World Narcotics Trade

by Guest Writer on November 20, 2009

India is the largest poppy cultivating country but it is generally taken for granted that the cultivation is for medicinal purposes. Indian farmers are granted licenses to cultivate opium, which is supposed to be purchased by the government-run medical laboratories for manufacturing medicines. However, only a small quantity is sold to the government while a large quantity of produce goes to black market on high prices. The stuff is finally purchased by drug barons for further processing into fine quality narcotics and onward supply to different destinations.

In a swift action by Indian Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) 25 kilograms of heroin was seized during the last week of October 2009, from the residence of Gaurav Oberoi, whose father Vicky Oberoi, hailing from Naigaon in Vasai Taluka of Thane district, was a known drug peddler in the books of ATS. The latest recovery led to certain arrests, which included Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Saji Mohan, who had also served as Zonal Director of the Indian Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at Chandigarh. The arrest of member of Indian NCB in drug trafficking might have surprised the world but not Indians as it has become a routine affair that Indian officials, including Security Forces and Police personnel, are involved in crimes, including drug trafficking. The Maharashtra ATS, which is investigating the case, have come across evidence which suggests that Saji Mohan has tentacles of his racket also sitting in various Pakistani cities.
