Looming Operation in South Waziristan

by MJK on September 28, 2009

It has been reported in Dawn and The News that army has asked the locals in South Waziristan to vacate their homes and shift to safe places outside the South Waziristan tribal area. They have also reported mass migration by the resident as they have also got warning from the Talibans to vacate their homes which comes as a surprise to me since i expected the Talibans to use the civilians as human shields as per our experience in Swat. However, it seems that situation is different in South Waziristan, which is long considered the bastion of Talibans or terrorists as we may call them. The unusual confidence of the Talibans in South Waziristan have baffled many analysts and military planners. The continuous drone attacks and surgical operations by Pakistan army have not weaken their resolve to fight a full scale war.

The operation is expected to cause another refugee crises for the people of the province who are yet to recover from the Swat operation and the resulting refugee crises. Even the refugees of operation in Khyber Agency have not yet returned to their homes. The provincial government has been making all out efforts to adjust the brace for the crises but it has failed in the past and will not be of much help in the future.

Pakistani Nuclear Weapons and Western Propaganda

by MJK on May 16, 2009

I read the story on The News that Pakistani nuclear weapons might fall in the hands of Taliban and the opinions of various so called Western experts on the issue in various media platforms. It just surprise me to the fact that either our Western Experts sitting in their offices in Pentagon and Washington are least aware of the ground reality in Pakistan or they are just too over dependent on their corrupt media to get their reports. I wonder how can their sources tell them that there is even slightest possibility of our nuclear weapons falling in wrong hands? What we can easily infer from their statements is what we have all been hearing not for days or months but for years that the Western governments and specially Israeli lobby is seriously concerned about Pakistani nuclear program and that is why they were first to label it “Islamic Bomb”. The name was given to it in early 90’s when there were no Talibans or Al Qaeda. The same groups who also happen to control the eyes and ears of our Western experts are feeding them the same info that server their purpose.

Collabrating With the Enemy?

by Sana Saleem on May 14, 2009

The role of the Armed Forces in Pakistan has been marked notorious in many aspects. Which isn’t much of a surprise coming from a  country with a deep rooted history of Dictatorship and Martial law. Many have blamed the dictatorship to be the cause of crippled democracy. The army today is operating in swat. An area heavily filled by Taliban extremists. the same Taliban were once created in collaboration with the United States of America. The same collaboration is now seeking a removal of the cults they bred several years ago.

A recent article in Los Angeles  Times  suggests that the ‘drone’ attacks in Pakistan’s northern areas were done with close co-operation of the armed forces. The phenomena is no rocket science and therefore it doesn’t take much of an effort to believe these speculations. However the situation suggests that we continue to fall prey at the hand of foreign powers. the same foreign powers help created these lunatics. In the backdrop of the speculations should we really be feeling at ease about the military operation in Swat?.

Personally I dont seem to find another way to combat extremism than the current military action. This isnt a trial to bad mouth the army or the ongoing o-peration. This is a mere opinion that if this mode of action was taken in the past we wouldnt be facing the crisis today. We cant overlook the fact that these millitants poured out of the sky. Many have lived here for long and perhaps have families. In this condition how safe is it to believe that the operation will completely cleanse the country. As many fear this could become yet another breeding ground for terrorism. Leading them to become more resistant and tactful in teh next regime. I believe so because its to far fetch to assumme that the refugees who for decades have now settled firmly will be completely eradicated.Despite all the odds I have hopes that we will be rid off these elements soon. Most of the nation’s concerns are now focused on the victims of war. This shouldnt be taken as an opportunity to create a mindless army. time has come where the blame game should stop. The people should be well informed on how much ‘co-operation’ goes in favor of America. I call for the the death of  ‘America our enemy’  theory and a snap back to reality.

Obama’s Foreign Policy Points On Pakistan

by Owais Ehsan on May 5, 2009

Lets get straight down to Obama’s Foreign Policy Points on Pakistan:

  • I’m confident that we can make sure that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is secure. Primarily, initially, because the Pakistani Army recognizes the hazards of those weapons falling into the wrong hands.
  • I am gravely concerned about the situation in Pakistan, not because I think that they are immediately going to be overrun and the Taliban would take over in Pakistan.
  • I’m more concerned that the civilian government there right now is very fragile and don’t seem to have the capacity to deliver basic services: schools, healthcare, rule of law, a judicial system that works for the majority of the people.
  • As a consequence, it is very difficult for them (the government) to gain the support and the loyalty of their people.
  • We need to help Pakistan, help Pakistanis.
  • There is a recognition increasingly on the part of both the civilian government and the Army that this is their biggest weakness. [click to continue...]

Indian, Israeli, Afghan and Russian Conspiracy Against Pakistan

by MJK on April 23, 2009

The briefing given to the Senate by Advisor to Prime Minister for Interior Rehman Malik  disclosed some serious problems that our beloved country Pakistan is facing from its arch enemy India and the cold war rival Russia. Both these countries are actively involved in fueling insurgency in the province of Baluchistan. Russias are taking revenge for their cold war defeat at the hands of American allies in Pakistan. While today the same Americans are indirectly helping the Russians through their Afghan allies. The Americans have never been a good friend of any country in the world except Israel and have proved it time and again. The short history of Pakistani nation is filled with so many instances when our so called American allies abandoned us.

The Indians and Russians have proved their alliance and today they are both busy in destabilizing Pakistan through the puppet government of Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan. In this scenario, Talibans can be considered our allies by default since the Afghan Talibans are the only force fighting the war against all three of our enemies. The terrorists operating in Pakistan are not Talibans and hence they should not be counted as Afghan Talibans whose only reason for Jihad is to liberate Afghanistan from the Americans and its allied nations. In return the enemy troika has make their own version of Talibans inside Pakistan to keep our armed forces busy and to turn aruond the public opinion against the true Talibans who just fight the western invaders in Afghanistan. American Democracy or Uniformed Terrorists?

by MJK on April 15, 2009

Since our American allies are crying too much on the so called Shariah law in the Swat region of Pakistan, i thought to show our readers the American style of democracy.  I have already written an article on the subject titled “US Terms Swat Deal as Human Rights Violation“. The purpose of this post is to show the video clip of the uniformed American terrorists and their democratic way of handling a women. I hope Asma Jehangir is watching and will raise this issue next time in her meeting with the American officials. I am sure she will dare to challenge her masters in the US for what they do to women in their perfect democratic country. The Ameicans made so much issue of a fake video of a girl being flogged in Swat but i wonder why this issue didn’t get much viewership around the globe?

Also read the story of the incident which can only be found in the Ohio State newspapers and not in NewYork Times since they consider it a story not worth writing at because they are too busy covering the fake video of girl flogging in Pakistan.

US Terms Swat Deal as Human Rights Violation

by MJK on April 15, 2009

The US administration thinks that the recent Swat deal is a serious violation of human rights and democracy. According to the story in The News,

“WASHINGTON: The Obama administration is objecting to the approval of Islamic law in a frontier region of Pakistan on human rights and democracy grounds.
President Asif Ali Zardari has approved implementation of Sharia in a mountainous portion of the rugged Northwest Frontier Province.

Asked about Zardari’s decision, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the administration believes security cannot be introduced with “less democracy and less human rights. The signing of that denoting strict Islamic law in the Swat Valley … goes against both of those principles.”
“we’re disappointed that the parliament didn’t take into account the legitimate concerns around civil and human rights.”

Swat Peace Deal and NY Times Propaganda Campaign

by MJK on February 22, 2009

The day the talk of peace started in Swat, the management and specially their propaganda specialist Jane Perlez could hardly digest it. He has left no effort to present this deal as something draconian which no  one except him understand. The way he try to present the facts of Swat shows his utter disregard for local customs and his ignorance about the real issues. The perception he try to creates in the mind of his target audience is the one which Bush loved and that is to instill fear. Lets us try to understand what Jane Perlez described and how we think about it. We will rest our case with our readers as they are the best judge of the facts and can verify our claims as well.

Abdul Qadeer Khan - The Nation Stand By You

by MJK on February 8, 2009

AQ KhanPro Pakistan is an die hard supporter of our national hero Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. We have always been protesting the stance taken by our previous government of keeping him under protective custody. Dr. AQ Khan is our her and we don’t have any doubt about his sincerity to the nation. We all know the aggressive posturing adopted by India after they tested their nuclear device and were talking about annihilating Pakistan. If it was not for the efforts of our brave scientists led by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Pakistan would have found it hard to resist our enemy India, who would miss no chance to subdue us.
