Pakistan in Australia 2009/2010 - Schedule & Fixtures

by Crackerpotato on December 10, 2009

As Pakistan vs Newzealand series draws closer to the last test match, cricket lovers are keeping one eye on the anticipated tour of Australia. Pakistan Cricket Board also announced the 16 member team for the Test matches. Lets have a closer look at the squad first;

Squad:
Mohammad Yousuf (capt), Salman Butt, Khurrum Manzoor, Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik, Fawad Alam, Faisal Iqbal, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal (wk), Danish Kaneria, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer, Abdur Rauf, Umar Akmal.

Dont think PCB will make whole lot of changes to this team for ODIs and T20 - apart from bringing in Shahid Afridi in place of Danish Kaneria. Also not sure if T20 specialists Imran Nazir/Sohail Tanvir would be called in the team for a single match.

Fixtures:

Pakistan will play 3 test matches, 5 ODIs and 1 T20 during the tour; below is the full list of matches:

Another Bomb Blast in Peshawar - The Nation Cries & the Leaders Condemn

by Usman Zahid on November 20, 2009

On the morning of 19th November, 2009 with mild winter sun shining, the residents of Peshawar with apprehension in their hearts were struggling to find the normality of life in the terror struck area; who knew the evil minded infidels would come and haunt them again and again. Around 10:17 am a man not more than 25 years old, with a small beard tried to enter the judicial complex where the guard stopped him and asked him for a security check; to which he refused initially and after a little probing by the guards the ‘partner of greater evil’ blew himself up along with him several innocent civilians. There was chaos, blood, body parts, fire and tears everywhere.

It was not something new for this nation and in particular for the residents of Peshawar. The specific area where suicide bomber exploded was a high security zone; with provincial assembly on one side, opposite to it the Corps Commander House and former Pearl Continental hotel; and not to forget that Pearl Continental was also destroyed in a bomb explosion. I remember traveling on this road last month when due to security issues one side of the road was blocked and this highly sensitive road had long traffic jams all over the place. I wonder who was being protected with all that security positioned? [click to continue...]

India Vs Pakistan: Champions Trophy - Live Streaming Cricket

by Crackerpotato on September 25, 2009

Once again we are at a stage when the Arch Rivals Pakistan and India set ablaze the cricketing field with unmatched intensity and passion. Personally I feel that its one of the greatest rivalries in the world in the same breath as Mohammad Ali vs Joe Fraser (boxing), Brazil Vs Argentina (football),  Arnold Palmer vs Jack Nicholose (Golf), Manchester United vs Liverpool (Club-football), or the recent ones like Federer Vs Nadal (Tennis). Pakistan vs India is as big as it gets for the fans on both sides. A total of 1.3 Billion supporters -  with world second most populated country India (1.12 Billion) against world’s sixth most populated country Pakistan (180 Million).

Pakistan is leading the head to head in ODIs with 68 wins against 45 losses. While India leads in ICC events, where they have won all the world cup matches and lost only once in ICC CT before. India is the Highest ODI ranked team in the world while Pakistan is at fourth.  All in all a mouth watering prospect.  [click to continue...]

by Teleco Analyst on September 10, 2009

3rd ODI Match India vs New Zealand Compaq Cup 2009 Live match, live streaming, online live start at 14:30 Local | 09:00 GMT | 14:30 IST | 2:30 PM India Time on 12th September 2009. India vs New Zealand Compaq Cup 2009 (India in Sri Lanka) 3rd ODI Match Watch Live online, Online live score updates. Will put the URLS later.

Quick Commentary before Match:

With both teams already in the Final of Compaq Cup, today’s game is almost like practice game for Sri Lanka and India before clashing for the title on Monday. However both teams will look for win to carry momentum towards final of Compaq Cup.

India on the other hand will also be keen to win both of the remaining two matches of Compaq Cup to remain Number One ODI Team in the world. After beating New Zealand quite comfortably in their first match they surpass South Africa at top of ICC ODI ranking and now they are number one team in the world.

To maintain the ranking they must win remaining of their two matches before going into ICC Champions Trophy. Sri Lanka on the other hand also look to improve there record against visitors which not good as they would liked in last two years. They have lost both the series they have played against India on their home soil and now they will be keen to take the revenge from the confident Indian team.

Indian bowlers are also looked in great shape against New Zealand in the first game and same applied to Sri Lankan bowlers also as both team bowlers able to bowl out kiwis for very low scores. It will be interesting to see how they perform against each other against tough components.

Batting wise both team looks settled on paper but as we have seen in the two matches played at R.Premdasa stadium any batting team need patience and common sense to score on this type of slow wicket. So batting holds the keys in tolday’s game.

We will bring you the ODI match live here on Friday 12th September - So stay tuned for live streaming and links: [click to continue...]
