A very good friend of mine uploaded a picture on Facebook that seems very interesting. The picture below shows a banner put up by local residents of a street in Rawalpindi. It seems there was a visit of “Nazim“and “Naib Nazim” to this area. Both, the caption and the message seems very powerful and a pinching critique to show a real face to administrators. Doesn’t this feel good that our people are becoming more aware and know more about their rights now as compared to 10 or 15 years ago?

In this picture post you can see the local lashkar dancing as Pakistan Army captured Bajaur. Its a historic moment for Pakistan as never has Pakistani flag hoisted in that region of FATA. Lashkar that was supporting Pakistan Armed Forces are seen dancing as Pakistan Army routed Al Qaeda and the Taliban from one of their main nerve centres near the Afghan border, where it has been fighting militants for nearly two years. So do comment on this picture and once again congrats to Pakistanis all over the world and well done Pakistan Armed Forces.

The Image above displays first ever postage stamp of Pakistan. This special postage stamp was designed by A. R. Chugtai and was approved by Quaid-i-Azam. This stamp is one of the four stamps that were issued on 9th July 1948 to mark the first anniversary of independence. Three of the designs were notable sights (Constituent Assembly building, Karachi Airport, and Lahore Fort’s gateway), while the fourth (this one) is an abstract design with a crescent and Urdu inscription.

Police taking full control over one-wheelers and punishes the notorious kids right on the spot. Boys usually over speed motorbikes riding on one wheel risking their life taking it as a cool stunt. Parents and media should campaign against the bad habit so that our youth shall remain risk free.

At the end of the Eid and the month; the government decided to give the nation yet another Eid and winter gift and that was the increase in the petroleum prices; which one way or the other will increase the overall expenses of the masses. There seems to be no relief for the masses in this country; the government seems to have forgotten the fact that the masses are not as rich as our politicians, bureaucrats and elite is!
The traveling fare has already been increased by 10% by the transporters; so in a nut-shell everything will go up by 10% other than the income of the people. And not to forget that, the government under IMF’s program, will increase the electricity and gas within 2 to 3 months. The price hike is massive; the sugar is not available, every summer is struck with the lightning of load shedding, and according to many experts soon the ‘Atta’ and ‘Rice’ crisis will hit the market. It is getting bad to worse!

The government is nowhere to be seen; or maybe the government is too busy looting the masses. This probably has been the worst government in times to come for Pakistan; each and every indicator whether for our economy or for our foreign policy or on law and order is showing our government’s failure. I think enough time has been given to this government to perform but unfortunately it seems that the government is either not interested in doing something or has no control.
I have a series of questions that why each and every burden is passed on to the nation? Why the government has not curtailed its expenses? Why bullet proof Mercedes have been ordered for the entire cabinet? Why President House and Prime Minister House are the biggest defaulters of electric and gas bills? Why our Police stations have been allowed to get away with electric bills worth billion of rupees? What is so important in the President House that it has an annual budget of Rs 390.86 million (and this budget does not include the payment of electric and gas bills)? [click to continue...]

The spectacular and iconic Burj al Arab (Tower of the Arabs) is celebrating its 10th birthday, today on first of December. This architectural masterpiece, that resembles a giant billowing sail, has become one of the most notable landmarks in the Gulf emirate. Built on on an artificial island out from Jumeirah beach, it is connected by a private curving bridge to the mainland.
Standing tall at 322 m, Burj al Arab is the second tallest hotel in the world. The ‘assumed’ seven star hotel has 202 lavishly-appointed duplex suites with the seemingly endless 22-carat gold-plated surfaces. The 1500 staff team ensures that every guest is pampered with great hospitality and unmatched service. A fleet of ten chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce limousines is also available to transport guests from the Dubai airport. The cost of staying in a suite begins at US$1,000 per night; the Royal Suite is the most expensive, starting at US$28,000 per night.
We wish a very happy 10th birthday to the owners of this very special building on this special day. Here are some pics for our readers. All the pics have been collected from internet and are used here under internet fair usage policy:

Our old auto rickshaw is back again - this time with catchy stanzas depicting the current state of affairs in Pakistan. The lines rhythmically personify Pakistan reading about joblessness, corruption, traffic jams and other problems etc.
These lines are extracted from a poem at BBC’s blog that was published by Haroon Rasheed. What do you think of this “Always Speak the Truth” series? You can see his previous messages here (on Sasti Roti), and here (appeal from Load Shedding affected)

Here is the original version of the poem: (Source)
Can you make more such stanzas ;)

Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan issues “Sanad-e-Shahadat” or certificate of Shahadat to their “Mujahids” (or terrorists?). The certificate reads that Mujahid xyz was associated with TTP and that he embraced shahadah while making jihad for glory of Islam and defending Muslims. WELL, DOES SHAHADAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE CERTIFIED? Would a person killing innocent people be a shaheed? Probably they need to check the definition again. I read in “Badaya wa Nahaya (Tareekh ibne Kaseer)” that any body killed innocent would be taking his head in his hand on the day of judgment and would ask Allah (swt) to ask the killer that why was he killed? What would the suicide bomber would have to say on that day?
