Confession of a Rapist on Pakistani Television Program - Video Post

by MJK on October 14, 2009

I just came across this shocking clip on YouTube of a Pakistani tv program by the famous channel “The Musik”. In the program “Living on the Edge”, the guy openly confess of an act of rape that he committed and talks out so proudly about it that i myself felt ashamed for watching it. I wonder how our Human Rights Organizations and our Judges missed it? Did anyone can dare to come forward and let the guy realize that he is not above the law of the land, no matter how strong is his family, he can still not go unpunished for raping a girl and then confessing it on a national television channel with such confidence! This is the way things go in our country and we can all understand the frustration of the girl who underwent the agony at the hands of this devil. It is time to highlight this incident and make sure that the guy gets the punishment he rightly deserves and the clip is shown on the same media on which he was so confidently and ruthlessly explaining his crime.

Unless, we start the campaign against such devils in our society, the day is not far away when they will be standing outside our door steps to punish us for our silence today.

Eid Celebration In Pakistan : Picture Post

by Mansoor Ehsan on September 21, 2009

One of the main feature of Eid Celebrations in Pakistan is decor of Mendhi (or Mehndi)  by women of all ages. It is the application of Henna as a temporary form of skin decoration in South Asia, Southwest Asia, North Africa and the Horn of Africa, as well as by expatriate communities from these areas. Mehendi decorations became fashionable in the West in the late 1990s, where they are sometimes called henna tattoos. Henna is typically applied during special occasions like weddings and festivals. It is usually drawn on the palms and feet, where the color will be darkest because the skin contains higher levels of keratin which binds temporarily to lawsone, the colorant of henna. Henna was originally used as a form of decoration mainly for brides.

Shah-Soft : Pakistani Game Developers

by Owais Ehsan on September 16, 2009

I have been searching for long about the progress of Pakistani gaming industry. Didn’t have much success , but found Shah-Soft.com one of the Pakistani based game developers on the web. I will be over a period of time bring down all the game developers in Pakistan to Pro-Pakistan.

About Shah-soft: its a very casual small development house , where simple fun and addictive games are made. While emphasis is on the basic aspects like graphics, gameplay, Sound , but special preferece is given to AI and fun which would make the games more additive.

We are small Indie Game Developers who are interested in making simple, intuitive and addictive video games. We are specially interested in Retro/Casual gaming but with better A.I, Controls, Gameplay, Graphics, Physics and well FUN!

I am not sure if the developers are still in the business or not as the website seemed to be dull and only a single game is available for download (Mines-xp).  Most probably they are close now. [click to continue...]

Highest Ranked Pakistani Modern Warfare Player !

by Owais Ehsan on September 9, 2009

COD4 Modern Warfare was the most selling game of 2008 over 10 million copies world wide. The multiplayer is described to be one of the best. Are there any Pakistanis in the ranking?

I dont want to brag about myself being a great modern warfare player , but KTFO servers did place me in the top 100 players (SiiD-Pak : Ranking 81). The number of players associated with the server reaches around 60,000. The ranking system is probably flawed as the players who seem to have the highest score is higher in the ladder. This is flawed as this doesnt necessary mean you are a good player, a player who is playing rubbish for 1 year is going to have a better ranking than someone who joinded 3 months back and is blasting everyone ! you got the point? its more time related rather than scoring ability related which should have been the way to go. Also players from UK seem to have better ping rate and hence more killing sprees!

Anyways - is there any other Pakistani who has better ranking than this? 81 ! I am yet to hear of any. If there is any please let me know;

Imran Khan: Book by Christopher Sandford - Review

by Owais Ehsan on August 20, 2009

Christopher Sandford has just released a new book about Imran Khan. The title of the book is Imran Khan with the tag line - The Cricketer, The Celebrity, The Politician. The book has also hinted at a possible affair between Khan and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister (Late) Benazir Bhutto while they were at Oxford University.

Brief Description Of the Book:

The definitive biography of Imran Khan, the former Pakistan cricket captain and all-rounder — the Oxbridge graduate and vociferous campaigner; the devout Muslim whose kaleidoscopic social life flooded the gossip columns; the man who raised $60 million for cancer research and who is now one of the most important political figures in Pakistan. On one thing, Imran Khan’s friends and enemies agree: it all began with the leopard print satin trousers. In November 1974, the Cricketer International published an article about the new elite group of young talented players, ‘into concepts like fashion and pop music’, and bent on challenging cricket’s eternal stereotypes.

The bookcover was earlier released with the Title - IMRAN KHAN , THE CRICKETER, THE PLAYBOY, THE POLITICIAN - it was lately revised to be IMRAN KHAN , THE CRICKETER, THE CELEBRITY, THE POLITICIAN.
