About
The forum: Pro-Pakistan
Pro Pakistan is a platform for Pakistanis to express themselves. Being the world’s sixth most populous country of the world, with a sizeable chunk of politics, economy and human resources in this global village, it is human nature to express ourselves-what we feel, how we think and perceive; what makes us happy, what makes us unhappy, and all the points in between.
Pakistan possesses jewels in the form of intelligent and hardworking people. Some of them are very well known, while others not so much. One of the theme lines of Pro Pakistan is to bring those not-so-familiar jewels in the forefront. Here at Pro Pakistan, you will discover the voices of Pakistanis, regardless of differences in demographical, societal, economic, social and political standing. What matters is the thought and the unwavering hope, that we can bring an improvement in the status quo, no matter how small the change. After all, mountains aren’t climbed with giant leaps, it’s one small step at a time.
Pro Pakistan discusses everything and anything about Pakistan and its people. From the snow-capped Himalayas to the sparkling Arabian Sea-if it concerns us, you can bet we will discuss it here.
Hope, Pro Pakistan presents you with the voice of Pakistan!
The driving force:
In January 2008, Pro Pakistan saw its official launch. A brainchild of M. Junaid Khan, the idea was first concocted in the frenzied turbulence following Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. The idea was first shared with Mansoor Ehsan, who instantaneously gave his nod and joined forces. Later, another dedicated blogger Owais Ehsan joined ranks and together, Pro Pakistan moved forward.
“I still remember Junaid being very ecstatic whenever we used to talk about blogging way back in 2006! He was maintaining his personal blog at that time as “thelandofpure”. The story of Pro-Pakistan started on death day of BB when we were trapped at a friend’s house. That gave us opportunity to brainstorm and grill his idea of a blog putting up Pakistan’s voice. He was of the view that we should scale it up. The major driving force was obviously to bring up a change and put up a positive image of Pakistan.” - ME
The idea was to counter the muddied image of Pakistan being propagated globally and providing a platform to the everyday denizen to air their dogmas.
“I shared this idea of starting a blog site where we can give our fellow Pakistani’s an opportunity to express themselves, since traditional media would only show from what they can commercially benefit.” - MJK
Since then, Pro Pakistan has built a reputation for itself in the Pakistani blogosphere. With quotes in Hufftington Post, Dawn, The News and Spider Magazine and numerous blog sites having linked to us, it is constantly growing MashAllah. The paid bloggers program has been started to share our success with our fellow Pakistani’s and to progress our goals further.
We will continue to strive to achieve our goals and we can never gauge the success of this venture on the achievement of our objectives. At the end of the day, at least we can say that we did try to make a difference.

The flag:
Referred to as Parcham-e-Sitara o Halal, the flag symbolizes Pakistan’s commitment to Islam, the Islamic world, and the rights of religious minorities. It was designed by Syed Amiruddin Kedwaii based on the original flag of Quaid’s Muslim League.
It comprises a dark green field, representing the Muslim majority of Pakistan, with a vertical white stripe in the hoist, representing religious minorities. In the centre is a white crescent moon and a white five-pointed star, which symbolize progress and light respectively.
