A good news: Pakistani skier Mohammad Abbas became the first man in the country’s history to qualify for the the Winter Olympics, to be held from Feb 12 in Vancouver, Canada. Abbas hails from the Northern Areas of Pakistan which is the home to the country’s top ski resort at Nalter, near Gilgit. Abbas along with other eight Pakistani skiers undertook a nine-week advanced training-cum-competition tour of Europe early last year in a bid to earn points and qualification for the Winter Olympics. A skier automatically qualifies for the Winter Olympics if he has an average of 120 Federation de International Skiing points. Canadian High Commission honored Abbas at a ceremony held at Islamabad. We wish Abbas all the best for Winter Olympics. CONGRATULATIONS! Related Articles |

Abbas Bay all Pakistani Prayers are with you.
Best of luck sir.
Cricket has been mixed with politics so bad that we lost CONSECUTIVE NINE matches GUYS!! Don’t you all think we need a DAMN good news. I wish this player all the best of luck. I hope he wins and let me add he is the FIRST one in the history of Pakistan to qualify till here so we really should applause him as we all need to discuss more and highlight the positive things done within Pakistan and by the citizens.
@abdul hai. Good one. The economy is a major factor and also the grants coming into Pakistan should be granted transparency so we people know where the heck all this money is going. The economy should be well smooth with this much hefty amounts of grants from the West on daily basis.
All Pakistani prayers are with you my frend. We do need a good news in this situation where everyday we get to hear about blasts ? I hope you win all the WAY inshallah.
