Dr. Aafia Siddiqui Charged!

by Usman Zahid on February 4, 2010

The much awaited and as expected the decision on Dr.Aafia Sidqui was given by the 16 member Jury at New York. The jury found Dr. Aafia being guilty of seven charges; mainly revolving around the murder attempt of U.S servicemen. The decision was twenty-four hours delayed by the jury, for the reason best being known to them and between the preceding two members of the jury were also changed. During the case two (2) witnesses were brought to the court by Dr. Aafia’s lawyers and also a videotape and the jury was also told that the forensic tests proved that Dr. Aafia had no indulgence in the case and that the case was made on false ground.

The charges against Dr. Aafia were that she tried to kill U.S Marines and FBI inspectors in Afghanistan, during an investigation by using rifle M-4 of an American soldier. Dr. Aafia was being investigated at that time by the Americans on for having some secret chemicals and the method of making a dirty bomb.

An interesting part here is that the whole episode of Dr. Aafia started when the innocent women was kidnapped from Karachi along with her three kids, in 2003. She was later handed over to American intelligence agencies for investigation.

The shameless act starts from here when the dirty dictator Pervez Musharraf sold a daughter of this nation to the Americans; well I guess that was Mr. Musharraf’s favorite past time; selling people; maybe he should try that to his beloved son too sometime.

It is matter of shame for all those ISI and MI people involved in kidnapping a woman; I wish they could use their energies in tracking the real terrorists and could stop CIA and RAW’s interference in the Pakistani soil.

Anyhow after being handed over to the Americans she was being kept in the Afghan jail at Bagram and after five (5) years it was disclosed by a British Journalist that she would hear cries of a Pakistani woman in jail no 650; later that prisoner 650 turned out to be Dr. Aafia.

According to sources she was brutally tortured and manhandled. She was given heavy dosages of unknown medicines; the atrocities on the innocent woman were relentless; to an extent that whenever she went to the toilet the doors were kept open by the FBI inspectors. The cruelty of Americans have no limits as till date there is no know-how of the two (2) kids of Dr. Aafia whereas her one son has returned home.

It is very important here to mention the five (5) Americans that were caught recently in Punjab and were found to be involved in terrorists activities in Pakistan are being given a V.V.I.P protocol; they are given McDonalds for meals and a doctor visits them daily to check their physical health. Shame on this administration, for letting ourselves down and stooping to a level from; where it is hard to rise.

It is pertinent to mention here the Dr. Aafia was an M.I.T graduate and she loved birds. Even after a rubbish decision by the mindless American Jury, Dr. Aafia said that she has nothing against Americans and she believes that the decision has come from Israel. The astonishing factor here is that she was also questioned on saying negative words about Israel. I wonder if Israel is the father of America and Americans do not like anything bad being said about Israel.

The weird part is that according to criminal court’s procedure the case is always conducted in the area or at least in the same country where it happens but in Dr. Aafia’s case the proceeding where held in U.S as if Afghanistan is part of U.S and U.S constitution is valid on Afghan soil and more interesting is that as I mentioned before Dr. Aafia was kidnapped from Karachi in 2003. So what is more logical; Dr. Aafia being kidnapped from Pakistan kept in Afghan jail and tested in U.S court? Also according to most cases in American courts the jury does not wait or delay the judgment by 24 hours but in this case the jury took the leverage to do so and show that American courts are nothing else than biased and full of racism. Just to remind everyone that this is the same country where humans of darker race were not suppose to sit on specific tables in the same restaurant; as they were reserved for humans belonging to white race.

Judgment on Dr. Aafia’s case is an eye opener for many who believe in the integrity of the Americans and their judicial system. I wonder if we can ever try an American in our courts and accuse him and charge him after keeping him in jail for five (5) years.

Well to sum up the situation; our nation should learn that today it is Dr. Aafia, tomorrow it can be your daughter, sister or mother held in an American court like this for no obvious charge and imagine how will you be feeling at that point in time? Imagine the intensity of the pain? Let us all rise as a nation and forget our differences and pull this stinking elite-ruling class and take our faith in our own hands; I am sure we can be much better rulers, more sincere to each other and at the least we will not sell our countrymen or women for a few dollars like Musharraf did!

I read the headline in the morning and it was just….it’s just despicable! Americans ka dimagh kharab hai, they’re always going on and on about the sorry state of the judiciary in our part of the world and look at their antics. Torturing an innocent woman, kidnaping kids, rendering her mentally unstable–this is the sort of crappy justice WE should learn from THEM??? And our government is just lapping it all up like a sappy dog and not even bothering to do something for her!
