Knowledge City of Pakistan - Visionary Project by Imran Khan

Who would have thought a person who was not a talented cricketer at first , would become one of the most successful cricketers of all time - and would make Pakistan team the world champions and beat the West Indies all conquering team of the 80s.  Who would have dreamed that one of the best cancer hospitals in the world (free treatment for poors) would be made in Pakistan , with no funds to begin with ? But it all came true , and there is only one man behind this - IMRAN KHAN.

Now lets explore what Imran Khan is upto these days (aside from Politics); Namal College Mianwali ; whats so special about it? lets explore

Namal College & University , Mianwali :

Namal College  was inaugrated in April 2008. Located at Rikhi in Mianwali District of Pakistan,it  has become an Associate College of the University of Bradford. The college is being developed by the Mianwali Development Trust (MDT). As well as being the University’s Chancellor, Imran Khan is also Chairman of the MDT and was a Member of the Parliament (MNA) from the Mianwali district from 2002 - 2007.  lets see this video to understand more about this college, as how International education  is provided to poor students on merit basis and free of cost.

Knowledge City Of Pakistan:

The thing that most of the Pakistanis like about Imran khan is that he is a man of his words - relentless, passionate, visionary and dedicated to his cause. Sometime back Imran khan was floating the idea of the First knowledge city of Pakistan, so let us explore what he is trying to achieve here and how this idea came to his mind - the idea for a Knowledge City had come to him when he was campaigning in Mianwali during the 2002 elections.

“I was appalled at the high level of unemployment amongst the youth. There and then I resolved to set up a technical college but changed my mind and decided to build a world class university instead.”

The first part of the dream, according to him, was the beautiful location of the site - a lake surrounded by hills and flat areas - which has been donated by the villagers and secondly, when he was offered the chancellorship of Bradford University, he realized that he had access to an enormous academic technical back up to pursue it.

“I was under no illusion that it was a huge challenge. It’s not easy to set up a center of excellence in a remote, albeit beautiful location in one of the most conservative areas of Pakistan where even my family members have to go fully covered up and girl’s education is a rare phenomenon. We need funds to set up a university of international standards. So I decided to ask industrial houses and overseas Pakistanis - who are our greatest asset - to join hands with me.”

So the idea started as a Technical college for local students, then it changed into Associate college of Bradford University and added Diplomas and international degrees. Finally the idea grew further and formed the shape of a knowledge city. Following are some of the points related to this Revolutionay vision;

1. It will be the first Knowlege city of Pakistan or any such concept in Pakistan.

2. It will be a city dedicated to high quality International education (secondary & Higher).

3. Engineering universities, Medical schools, Business colleges etc All sorts of education would be brought to this city.

4. Free land would be provided to the universities that would want to open there campuses here.

5. Bradford University will help in providing systems & maintaining International quality standards (Since Imran Khan is also Chancellor of BU).

6. Approximately 1000 acres of Land is available for this project.

At this point we at Pro-pakistan congratulate Imran Khan on initiating such a fantastic Project. We also wish him all the best and all our support will always be with him. On a lighter note we encourage  other Pakistanis to support this project and help Pakistan in every way they possibly came. Pakistan Zindabad, Imran Khan paindabad.

This is so impressive! I get it, how some people have issues with Imran Khan, but to me he is a man of great conviction and resilience. I would like nothing better than to see him lead our country. Pakistan Zindabad :-)

This is what I try to reflect all the time that not all happening in Pakistan is bad. We are fighting the disease of extremism from out country and soon we will be free from it. Other than that we should appreciate and raise our voices for projects such as this so that our country can prosper inshallah as a moderate country rather than with extremism values.

“Dair Aiyad —Dorust Aiyad”.Imran Khan has fulfilled his commitment which he made during his election campaign in 2002 in miawalli.Imran khan belongs to pakistan,she gave him Identity.In my humble opinioin he should improve & vast his NETWORK of voluntarian & humanatarian projects to other parts of pakistan as Edhi Sahab does.Some people speculates that some people have ISSUES with Imran khan.I guess thats rubbish Idea.I’m one of those people who highlited his dark side of personality WHEN some people try to portrayed him as SAINT.I do appreciate when he does good work by open heart ,I know due to his ENGLISH connections he may be a negotiator b/w Taliban,pak,usa to finalize any peace pact,on my behalf I like this part of his personality ,i.e +ve attitude towards Talibs.

@sakina. One must appreciate the good deeds that Imran khan does for the betterment of country. His insight on somethings is very impressive but his view about the Taliban is what I refuse with. His ideology for the militants is yet to be understood. I think he should shake hands with the army and support them wholly like rest of the nation

@Amna: I get what you mean, he does seem to be adamant about starting a dialogue with the Taliban. But I must add, is that such a bad thing? There are 2 ways to look at this. One is that they are a group of crazy idiots who are hell-bent on destroying our country and they deserve to be bombed back into the Stone Age. Completely agreed. The second point in case is, while you and I look from afar at the people stuck in the tribasl areas, innocent lives are being hunted left, right and center. For their sake, and no other agenda in mind, if we do stop the fighting and initiate negotiations to deal with the matter–is that so bad?

I quote him, “The solution is to win them onto our side, not to bomb them with airstrikes.” Otherwise, he warned: “If we continue with this military operation we are facing a catastrophe.” (DawnNews 14th Jan 2010)

@sakina. I would agree with you but then again I think we have already tried so many negotiations with these crazy Talibs that it don’t seem to work. The swat pact was a complete disaster and they continued to take lives! Even if diolog is promoted, the military intensity should be kept on high on them as due to them our country is facing the worst tenure in history. ?
