Pakistan’s Supreme Court  declared NRO illegal - an amnesty that had protected President Asif Ali Zardari and his allies from corruption charges, opening the door for corruption cases to be brought against them. Although Zardari’s position gives him immunity from prosecution, the court ruling heaps pressure on his government and could set the stage for his immunity to be challenged. We have seen talk shows and analysts exploring all sorts of possibilities - all sorts of misperceptions and rumors are in the air. So we bring you the detailed verdict by the Supreme Court on NRO, so that one can read it themselve and forget about all the rumors :) . Though im sure not many people have read the all 287 pages :) , but at least give a try.

I have read the detailed judgement of the Suprme Court of Pakistan on the most notorious Black NRO. This judgment is a reflection of the will of the People of Pakistan which has been given by the Supreme Court of Pakistan comprising the Bench cosisting of 17 judges. The NRO was a black Ordinance, which was promulgated by a dictator as a result of cledenstine consultation with the PPP with the sole intention to provide a Blank Cover to the Cases againstg PPP leaders which were under trial in the courts of Pakistan as well as in the Court of Switzerland. However, the present Govt. finds herself almost unable to implement the judgement in true spirit . Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has categorically stated on the floor of the house on 27th. January, 2010 that his Govt would implement the judgement of the Suprme Court. I think that no doubt the Prime Minister is willing to do some good to the nation, but the other leaders of the PPP are standing in his way to go ahead with the judgement of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Let us hope that every future decision of the Govt. will be beneficial to the nation.

I think it is time that we get off the back of NRO and focus on other crucial things like growing militancy in Pakistan. On the other hand South wazirstan is receiving 899$ million for the re construction. We should be working hard to capitalize that amount and prosper the area.
