In a report in the Indian newspaper it has been claimed by the Indian army that they are preparing for a war on two fronts i.e. China and Pakistan. In the report it has been concluded that Indian army has started to work with Indian Air force and Navy for optimum achievement of goals and has also launched several joint operations to enhance the precision of the joint team. The report has also mention that the change in Indian army thinking and preparing for such a war is being led by Lt. General A S Lamba who is heading the Shimla-Based Army Training command in India.

This change has been brought about due to the ever increasing security challenges faced by the Indians. It is important to mention here that India has an army of around 1 million which has been active for some time in war games.

The shift in Indian army’s strategy came after the shooting incident on the parliament in the year 2001; in which it took more than a month for the Indian army to mobilize and deploy the troops on its border against Pakistan. Under the new strategy Indian army’s primary motive is to deploy troops in no time, hold and take positions at the earliest and this strategy has been termed as, ‘Cold Start Strategy’.

According to report,

“The plan now is to launch self-contained and highly-mobile `battle groups’, with Russian-origin T-90S tanks and upgraded T-72 M1 tanks at their core, adequately backed by air cover and artillery fire assaults, for rapid thrusts into enemy territory within 96 hours.”

Important to mention here is the new ‘South-Western Army Command’ made specifically for dealing with Pakistan. And similar to the new command Indian army is considering a same command for China; which will work and operate accordingly.

It seems that India will never get enough of wars; come what may Indians are desperate to fight yet again another conventional war whether with Pakistan or China. Recently Indians have started to take on China; even in their talk shows the topic is very hot.

Somehow the other the presence of U.S in Afghanistan has unbalanced the entire region. There is a lot of battle for becoming the Asian-power in this region; whether Iran, India or China. Americans cannot afford Chinese as a world and especially Asian-Power and that is why they are trying every possible way to support India in being one; and not to mention that India-Israel lobby is very strong.

Pakistan has already been put to task with the so-called ‘War on Terror’ in which our leaders sold our national interests. We have no military liaison with Russia and now we have distant ourselves from China due to our proximity with US.

Geographically, naturally, economically and strategically China suits us the most but somehow the other our leaders are blind to see that. This is the best time to join hands with China as both the countries i.e. China and Pakistan have a common enemy in the form of India.

I don’t understand when India is not interested in dialogue with us then why are we begging them for a dialogue. India is just buying time for aggression and we are too busy doing corruption and holding cabinet meetings at Gawadar port.

We could have been the an Asian tiger had our leaders been sincere to us; because we have abundant natural resources; enough man power and enough brains to ouster any nation on this earth but the way we have been utilized is heart breaking and sad. This nation has enough jewels but the crown is rusty; which is a sad but a bitter reality!

ideally if india, pakistan and china are collectively sent to another galaxy, the rest of the civilised (western) world can get some peace and quiet.

@ D dun thing – I wonder what do you mean by some peace and quiet? If you send China somewhere than you should see the video of 2008 Olympics in which Bush thanked Chinese Premier for saving his country, and if you send Pakistan somewhere then how would Senior Bush ever had made USSR; Russia; and i don’t care about India frankly speaking. So i think you should come out of the typical US mentality and see the larger picture of the world where others exist not like a hollywood movie in which only Americans are threatened and yet they survive.

War is an inevitable resort; however the operation carried out by the armed forces aims to curb down on the extremist forces that intend to destabilize the peace and security at the global level. The current hawkish statements by the Indian Army chief will not help in restoring peace us as Nation should unite against extremism

Pakistan is in a situation that we area in war with the militants present in the tribal areas. Lets not discuss any more wars. We must be victorious in this war first because there extremists are trying to hurt the economy of Pakistan and we can not let that happen on any circumstances.
