In recent one week more than two incidents have been reported in which unidentified American vehicles have been stopped and probed and the result has not been fruitful for Pakistan. Cars with fake number plates, tinted mirrors carrying illegal weapons have been stopped at more than two places in Lahore and in Islamabad but these incidents have not come to be stopped; in fact have gained momentum which should ring alarming bells for the security agencies, our leaders and especially for our nation.
I wish to try this in America some day but I am scared that I will end up in Guantanamo; the hypocrisy and double standards continue to prolong and cast shadows on the future of this nation. Where are the diplomatic rules and decorum?
This means that any Pakistani cannot be stopped having a tinted car, fake number plate and illegal weapons. The scary part is that American inside the car told the police constable that, “Pakistani laws are not binding on us!” then I wonder which laws are binding on them and if the American national is aware that he is in Pakistan and not in any American state and I am sure that there is no such rule in any American state where you can move in a car with fake registration number plate.
The biggest failure of this government has been its liaison with U.S; as it has become a known fact that the Pakistani do not like to see their government getting too close with Americans but somehow the other our leaders interpret this the other way around; which by the way takes a lot off shame to do so for our leaders; and to make such pro-American policies.
An incident in Lahore was reported in which two American diplomat cars were stopped at military check posts and they failed to give access of the car for checking purposes; similarly in another incident an American vehicle carrying Islamabad’s registration number plate also refused to give access.
There has been a couple of incidents reported in Islamabad where an American has been involved in manhandling Pakistani and in another incident refusing the security agencies to check the car of any weapons. In an interesting incident a car was found with illegal weapons that belonged to the Netherland embassy but was later released due to American embassy’s pressure. Also an American embassy’s officer crashed into CDA’s (Capital Development Authority) most expensive ambulance in November, damaging the ambulance severely; the ambulance was worth Rs 80 million.
Not to forget the drone attacks those are being carried out almost once or twice in every week in the tribal areas of Pakistan and at times killing innocent Pakistani for no obvious reason.
It is the same American presence that has led to several suicide attacks on places like Marriott hotel Islamabad where reportedly American marines were staying; similarly Pearl Continental Peshawar witnessed a nightmare due to the presence of same marines.
It seems hard to know that if our leaders are blind or deaf that they cannot hear the nation telling them that they do not want such cordial relations with Americans! And the nation should not be blamed for this because the American policies and agenda has never been people friendly; it always has been leaders or elite friendly. Americans would support a dictator whereas the nation voted for a political set-up.
The reason my nation does not like Americans much is because there is not a single thing done for them and every step that Americans have taken is hurt them one way or the other. Whether Drone attacks or sanctions in 1997 or delaying the release of F-16 fighter jets or the Kerry Lugar bill.
And the anti-Americanism has not been brought by Islamic radicals or extremists but by Americans themselves. The sacrifices of Pakistanis for the American interests or policies is far more than just $ 1.5 billion and people cannot be bought for money; it is about winning their hearts and minds and not just exploiting their needs. If American’s love for Pakistan is so much than why not to exempt all the outstanding loans of Pakistan and give easier access to Pakistani businessmen. The recent report released in American media about the Pakistani pop-stars where they have termed as, ‘Bubble Gum stars’ and have been judged to be scared of terrorists and anti-Americans.
I think if Pakistan can get out of the this American web then not only the terrorism will be curtailed but the sincere partners like China will be able to play a much constructive role in development of Pakistan. The problem is that the nation does not want Americans to be so closed to them whereas the leaders love for America is growing more and more with every passing day. I do not know if I have ever seen such democracy where the leaders and the nation are at exact opposites.

Very well written and thought provoking article, I hope our politicians will read this article and do some soul searching
China is never a sincere partner , he is fair weather friend .
US has provided aids to Pakistan since from 1948
since from then they are enetring in pakistan like that
this is recent development in NEWS and awareness in local public
..Govt. of Pakistan should think about increasing militry power of US in her
territory
I am agree with Aamir. Let see the reaction of Pakistani politicians in Parliament
the Taliban give a statement a few days ago that these are not Islamic bombings that took place on the soil of Pakistan. One should ask is there sumthing such as Islamic bombings….Is this crazy or what!! We need to finish these militants off I say.
Darren Hayes I am sure today where we are, is all due to the Americans and our will to increase their military power; Gawadar Port and many other development projects have been helped by Chinese governments and not Americans; all U.S is doing is pumping money in Pakistan which for me makes no sense because the Americans know that the money can easily be used to lure the leaders; if US is so sincere then why dont they transfer drone technology to Pakistan? Why not help Pakistan’s position on Kashmir; and their can be a lot more other things on which we can debate and every Pakistani knows that Americans will never be sincere to us as a nation but only to a few corrupt people who safe guard their interests and not of this nation
blame solely goes to the media I would say. The media has played a big role in producing the global image of Pakistan in this manner. Even if they change strategy and reflect the positive parts its not late.
I think there is nothing wrong with getting influence from the right things. It don’t matter where they are coming from. We should take good points globally and technology to fight extremism and make our country peaceful.
they have a lot of moderate elements in their society that I believe we can use and grow a lot as nation. It is not must that we inherit all they have to give us. Atleast the good parts we can.
Want to get rid of the Americans in Pakistan? I don’t blame you. There is only one way. Get rid of their reason to be in Pakistan – help me find the location of Usama bin Laden and I’ll take care of getting rid of him. And the Americans will have no excuse to stay. And the Pakistan government will have no excuse to allow the Americans to stay.. Ideas, contacts, anything you do to help, just email me.
