Burj al Arab celebrating its 10th birthday

by Mansoor Ehsan on December 1, 2009

The spectacular and iconic Burj al Arab (Tower of the Arabs) is celebrating its 10th birthday, today on first of December. This architectural masterpiece, that resembles a giant billowing sail, has become one of the most notable landmarks in the Gulf emirate. Built on on an artificial island out from Jumeirah beach, it is connected by a private curving bridge to the mainland.

Standing tall at 322 m, Burj al Arab is the second tallest hotel in the world. The ‘assumed’ seven star hotel has 202 lavishly-appointed duplex suites with the seemingly endless 22-carat gold-plated surfaces. The 1500 staff team ensures that every guest is pampered with great hospitality and unmatched service. A fleet of ten chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce limousines is also available to transport guests from the Dubai airport. The cost of staying in a suite begins at US$1,000 per night; the Royal Suite is the most expensive, starting at US$28,000 per night.

We wish a very happy 10th birthday to the owners of this very special building on this special day. Here are some pics for our readers. All the pics have been collected from internet and are used here under internet fair usage policy:

I’m wondering that how much money spent on the completion of this lavish project,in return only 1500 folks (most of them from Endiya & philipinos) got employed. How much unfortunate we muslim are?If this amount of money would be spent on Industry or on HiTech education.
