Islam that originated in Arabian peninsula about 1400 years ago is now thriving and has reached every continent. This was revealed in a recent report by THE PEW FORUM on Religion and Public Life. This report is very comprehensive stating size and distribution of World’s Muslim Population as of 2009. The demographic study of more than world’s 200 countries reveals that there are around 1.57 billion Muslims of all ages living in the world today, representing 23% of an estimated 2009 world population of 6.8 billion. This said report also classifies Muslim population in to Sunni and Shiites as well with respect to various geographic regions. The report also measures Muslim population according to each country and region. Europe for example has 38 million Muslims, constituting about 5% of its population. European Muslims make up slightly more than 2% of the world’s Muslim population. Whereas there are 4.6 million Muslims in American region out of which more than half or about 2.5 million are Muslims.

It’s sad to see that an entire day has passed but yet this blog has received no comments. The media has made us so used to watch violence and butchering that we have become habitual. Media needs to give a lot of airtime to positive news like these so that a measure of positivity floats in the Muslim Ummah and society. Every fourth person on planet earth is Muslim I think is a big achievement and if portrayed rightly so we can all be united and forget about our differences.
I agree with you Mir….nowadays we look for a news which is full of sadism. I personally don’t lay the blame on media because they are simply doing their job; it is up to us to choose between right and wrong.

I believe this is a blessing. Lately extremism has put a bad name on the religion too but we have to over come that. The majority in Pakistan and even the muslims is peace loving. We should raise our voice through media and convey this message globally. We have to attain our repute back soon before these militants ruin it all for us.
Last Week 9-boxers who hails from Central Africa & camron, came karachi to attend B.Boxing Tournament went to Mufti Naeem Sahib & converted to Islam.Allah by his mercy shined their hearts & brain with light of Truth.
Another good news to my brothers that Grand-grand son of Mirza Gulam Kadiyani(murtid),Mirza A. bilal revealed that in 1999 he embrace in Islam and when he disclosed last week to his community,they kidnapped now A.Rehman beat him severly ,broke his nose & some bones and left him unconscious in some remote area.
@murtuza Hassan ,How much lucky we are that we are blessed of having religion of Islam at our home Comfort,still we blame our religious people for every thing bad happens to us. Why we don’t disscuss on this Blog about People’s life who Converted Islam like Ex-boxer M.Ali Clay, Yousuf Islam ,A.Rehman,a russian(spy who stationed at Britan while some body mixed radioactive poision in his tea & at last moment before dying on his bed he converted to Islam).Chief Minister of Madhia pardesh’s son.
