Since we have lots of readers who are interested in real estate in Pakistan; I thought this news would be interesting. DHA City Karachi balloting was scheduled to be held yesterday that has been postponed due to an inevitable bug in DHA’s database system. Oww that’s bad luck!
The news release on DHA’s site says Secretary DHA regretted and apologized to the participants for the inconvenience. He said that due to an accidental technical bug in the database for balloting the computerized software system collapsed and despite all efforts could not be restored on time. This This actually led to postponement of DHA City Balloting.
DHA has announced that the balloting for DHA City plots allotment would be held on 5 Nov’ 09 at 1100 Hours at the Defence Authority Country & Golf Club, DHA Phase-VIII, Karachi. We, here at Pro-Pakistan will try to publish the results on the balloting day so do check back on 5th of Nov.

Continously ,I’m alarming about the complex site situation of DHA City ,it is upto wise folks to Invest hard earned money there by their will & consent.Watch the News ,keep yourself uptodate.What else I can say.

My mother was telling me when she was at DHA’s office to submit payment that the staff told her that apparently they havent finished the whole allotment of plots and soon they will bring more plots in the market through balloting in the second stage of allotment. They also showed and explained my mother about the progress work which she told me was very impressive to listen and see, also she told me that since the project is going through its introduction phase so lots of planning and designing is going on which is happening in the office not at the site. I guess people who invested in this project are looking for more site work which relatively can not be possible so soon. So guys calm down and dont rush. Im from Malir Cantt, people during the 90′s use to say the same stuff about Malir Cantt like too far, looks like a desert,no transport, no shopping district bla bla. To all those,please go now and ask an estate agent regarding the price of plot/house in Malir Cantt. Guys dont panic and its not the right time to sell your plots unless if you are in a need.

As far as I know about DHA, they are FRAUD. Look at DHA Valley Islamabad project. They have taken 7 installment + membership + down payment, they have built nothing, just NOTHING.
I don’t advice people to invest in any of the DHA scheme. They are FRAUD, RUBBISH.

One more thing Ahmad Bhai, Aisha sister got her plot in Gulshan rahim 15-years back,how can you blame me .I’m not the one who build there Hakim Villa.Recently some guys went to court and asked the Judge to recover their “Leased- plot” situated at Gulistane Johar from Kubza Mafia ,honourable judge passed the ruling that Leasee have the responsibility to protect their properties,court is unable to find the solution.

The ROI on DHA City plots more depends on PK economy stability and peace rather than DHA Itself. No doubt on DHA market in Pakistan but what DHA could do if there is no peace in our city and country! No one would like to continue their investment into those areas and that has started happening. Please our politicians think before you say a=or do anything, its really effecting PK stability.
@Iftikhar, I am 100% agree with your comments. I am a very independent Pakistani (never voted for PPP), but I think current government made some progress if we compare them how they were one year ago when Pakistan was unable to meet its debts obligations and foreign exchange deposits were barely 3 billions. I think current government need to hire an image consultant OR at least they need to start engaging themselves in finance + business and economy and push a very strong pro business agenda ASAP.
We need positive WIBES from all the ministers in center and / or in Sind government. Iftikhar, morally we feel real down, and still waiting for democratic government to do better than dictators, but I don’t know how long we (people) have to wait. I think previous govenment played a real good role (don’t know if it was a bluff) in building a strong hope in investers and we all saw a vibrant economy from 2001 till 2007.

Nothing against you, I just tried to made the point that we need avoid praising any land developer without 100% certain about how they honour and respect individual property rights. I know DHA is not 100% in all the areas but I am certain that they are the best in protecting my property from Kabza mafia.
DHA City has a facebook page now, just search you will find. You can see few pictures as well. Looking good to me.
@iftikhar, y everybody blames PK economy and government instability , if we have DHA city account in ABL (bank ) and we are paying installment in time, y every body blames his unsuccess on to gov. @aisha behan, Iftikhar is talking about the political economy of Pakistan which is pretty bad as of now and this may effect rate of return for investment. Not talking about the economy of dha city or ABL. I agree with him, even political economy impact in every aspect of our life regardless of if it is dha city karachi or a town in Sukker.
Dear Aisha, DHA had planned the scheme in 2005 when the economy was really booming (some people say bluff) but it wasnt fully bluff. Th ebad time started in 2007 end and after that its continiously downward situation. Now what you would say is it DHA fault? its over all country economy problem that we may lose good ROI on it.
Don’t you kow DHA is still facing issues? They were not able to sold out their all plots! why it had happened? just becaiuse of the uncertainity situation in PK. We are investing now whereas DHA had invested for the same starting 2000. Please better to study first and then pass th ecomment.

Thanks. PPP Govt could do really better if they can lay off the corrupt peoples from their cabinet and just think PK first and then for themselves. They have most of the miniters corrupted in their cabinet whereas they can find a very talenbted peoples in PPP as well.
In Sindh, our political parties they have to come up 1 step forward to put behind their interests for some time. MQM, ANP, Jamat, PPP etc they all have their own agendas and poeples like us suffering becasue of that.
@Ahmed Bhai,yes you are right that I encouraged in my previous postings to Invest less amount of money and get good quality stuff as much as you can “this is also theme of my life”I always keep 40% cash flow and rest of Investment in small projects which can easily be liquidified if I need at once.I’m not an economist what ever I learned ,learned from nook & hooks of streets.So I do have 120 sqyd corner plot in GulshanRahim & it is safe so far ,we don’t have any Neem -Hakeem Villa arround it:)I guess I’m not wrong if I advice some thing good for the betterment of general people not the few, elite ones:)

Consultancy Services Signing Agreement Ceremony
Karachi, Aug 06: A Consultancy Services Signing Agreement Ceremony for master / town planning of newly launched DHA City Karachi project was held at DHA Main Office here today.
The master planning agreement was signed between DHA and a joint venture of strong planning and design team compromising internationally renowned master planning firm Doxiadis Associates from Greece, global leading urban architectural firm RMJM Architects from UK and leading national consultancy firm Osmani and Company (Pvt) Ltd.
The consultants are being mobilized this month who will carry out the state-of-the-art master planning of the new upcoming city project spread over an area of 11640 acres of land on Super Highway.
The new project is situated at the outskirts of Karachi at an attractive location with a beautiful natural background. The semi hilly virgin land is planned to accommodate the future residential and commercial expansion of the metropolis. The nouveau approach towards the development of the virgin land has been carefully planned and is accordingly been executed by the professional teams of DHA along-with leading national/international experts on town planning.
Administrator DHA, Brig Khalid Tirmizi said that the project would be developed as per the most modern contemporary principles of town planning in line with international standards incorporating provision of world class amenities and recreational facilities, attractive geographic landscape, wide road networks, provision of green/open areas, utilities, sewerage, garbage disposal and development of sustainable and environmental sources of energy.
He said that through careful appraisal administered by the professionals, DHA plans to make optimum use of the environment friendly utilities like solar and wind energy and to pursue renewable energy projects as a leader in environment friendly constructive activities.
Dr Pollalis of the consultancy services consortium said that latest national and global standards would be implemented during the development of the project ensuring best use of the available resources to make DHA City Karachi a comfortable living, work and recreational experience.
The master and town planning of DHA City Karachi is stipulated to be completed by the first half of 2011 followed by a fast track development of the first phase of the project. 30,000 residential and commercial plots have already been allotted to the people in Phase-I of DHA City Karachi

KARACHI: Defence Officers Housing Authority’s (DHA) City’s master and town planning would complete by 2011 while around 30,000 residential and commercial plots have been allotted to the people in Phase-I.
In this regard, the DHA administration signed an agreement on Friday for consultancy services with Greek-based firm Doxiadis Associates, United Kingdom-based firm RMJM Architects and national consultancy firm Osmani and Company (Pvt) Ltd. The master planning consultancy would cover an area of 11,640 acres on Super Highway.
DHA Administrator Brig Khalid Masood Tirmizi said the project would be developed as per modern principles of town planning. The DHA would use environment-friendly utilities including solar and wind energy, and would pursue renewable energy projects in the DHA city, he added.
Meanwhile, consultancy services consortium’s Dr Pollalis said latest national and global standards would be implemented during the development to make it a comfortable living and recreational experience.
