Scenes are swiftly varying and revealing the certainty behind the mist and pointing towards a spiteful American out break in South Asia, A part of Afghanistan US mainly accomplishing it through proxies, proxies and wars US has supported over the years are numerous and their brunt on the beleaguered entities are awfully disturbing, one still remembers photographs from Vietnam episode when a young girl was trying to run towards safety, her clothes were completely burnt by fire and her skin was burning after USAF had completed a “napalming” mission over a village, I could’ve given more repugnant example of US brutality in wars from more recent “deazy cutting” memories of Afghanistan or “gassing” scenes of reported republican guards in Iraq, but probably that wouldn’t be regard something as “eternal” on the peace loving minds of west, because of the fact that International standards (both of local NGOs and western media) of anti war sentiments just won’t consider people of Iraq and Afghanistan evenly as the poor Vietnami girl who later was presented as an anti war symbol similarly by the pro communist propaganda machinery of Soviets, eastern Europe and the green peace element of the west, war brutalities has increased with the advancement in modern armaments and technology and intentions of more harassing agenda, but every buddy seems to have a certain criteria for projecting the fuss about creating an image of the particular victim of an particular hit. I was trying to explore and learn the motives behind the context of a recent terrorist attack in Iran when terrorist group Jundullah hit Iran with a suicide bomber, close to the border with Pakistan, which reveals further inroads to understand American plan and the way they fancying it to implement by putting together all the pieces of the puzzle and by leveling the appropriate ground for it, but deep “gratitude” for American policies haul that pretext into discussion. Americans usually are fond of financing and impelling every “liberation” force which normally at a quick glance itself appears as minority among those who are some times rightly but most of the times wrongly labeled as suppressed and marginalized ethnic or religious groups of the country.
Canvas of the attack on Pasdaran-e-inqalab is far more complex then it looks at a fleeting stair of an eye, it becomes even more multifaceted in the context of the situational parameters like Iranian elections, reemergence of Ahmedi Nizad as Iran’s president, election riots and country wide protests which were overwhelmingly reported and painted by western media (it is also interesting to note the objectives behind the startling election campaign for Mosvi ran by the international media, if one analyze the way they were comparing Nizad with Mosvi and the amount of stress they were seemingly forcing on highlighting the “positives” Mosvi capable to deliver for people of Iran, he will agree with me that western media was running Mosvi’s election campaign, and off course afterwords his protest, reportedly election riots were American sponsored), and amount of apprehension US shown over Iran’s growing military and strategic importance in the region, vital part of the whole incident for us was the Iranian resentment towards Pakistan, president Nizad angrily pointed his fingers and at once declared the attacks being conducted and Supervised from Pakistani soil, he even went one step forward and made an accusation of the involvement of Pakistani security agencies, perhaps it is obvious that Mr. Nizad ihas theoretically fallen into the trap which Americans planned for him, or did he?
Jundullah has accepted the responsibility of the attack, same organization had launched systematic attacks on Pakistani soil against Pakistani security personals and a very renowned one on Rtd Gen Mushurruf took real attention and caused crack down against the organization in Pakistan, Jundullah which was operating in Pakistan was more an anti American force and was rightly consider as Pakistani wing of Al-Qaida, but what it has committed off late is different and even more dangerous, Junduallah operating in Iran is something else something more mystic, Before further elaborating Iranian offended Jundullah, its worth looking into the actual milieu of the whole scenario to get a better understanding of the subject rather then analyzing this terrorist attack as as an isolated event. It was a setup, a scheme, which was planned up to take the gravity of the apparent Iranian phobia in the minds of US tax payers to a new level of exhilaration, US had reallocated and redefined this strategy back in may 2007 under the neu-con administration which had a manifest appealing of creating wars, specially their apprehension towards Iran and will to impose a military solution of the matter, Iranian nuclear program is also a major reason, in pursue of plunging into this irrational approach they approved to launch secret black operations to achieve regime change in Iran. As reported by London telegraph, under the plan, pressure was to be excreted on Iran by targeting Iranian economy through manipulating the country’s currency and international financial transactions, agitation was to be created among the common mass and Iranian nationals living in America were to be used as the “two way communications channels” for which CIA was responsible to provide “technical” assistance, financing and broadcasting Jundullah as the muscle arm was part of the plan.
Jundullah is generally regarded as the derivative, an offshoot of Al-Qaida which itself in some circles is considered as a havoc created by Americans themselves, but the harsh verity is that Jundullah is a confirmed American brand, Al-Qaida was more used as an umbrella, a trademark under which various small groups of world anti-American and pan Islamic resistance gathered and operated, beside discussing the origin of Al-Qaida, there is also strong a presumption that few elements of angry elements from Abu Zarqavi group of Al-qaida which were active in Iraq few summers back have joined or sneaked in to Jundillah, one has to remember that Abu Zarqavi group was not only against US forces in Iraq, but they were allegedly responsible for various terrorist activities against shias in Iraq, Iran has covertly played his part in elimination of Abu zarqavi and his organization, then later various intelligence reports came out about the fact that afterward those anti shia elements were adopted by US and intermingle with Jundullah to play a role of local hocks in south Asia specially in context of Iran-Iraq and Pak-iran relations. Terrorist Attack by jundullah targeted headquarters of revolutionary guards in Pishin, near the border with Pakistan around which Jundullah is elegantly operating form bases near Iranian Seastan and Baluchistan with the help of strong American support, they’ve able to make several dents in to national interests of Iran, American Presence in Baluchistan is not something new, geographically Baluchistan is ultimate base for such ghost wars and covert activities. Americans have luxury of large abandon mountain ranges, dumped and uninhabited sea coasts, road links with major city like Karachi, strong allies in form of BLA, RAW and in some extent quite possibly a revived face of late KHAD i.e. RAMA (research and Analysis Milli Afghanistan), In existence of all these features it’ quite straightforward to calculate and estimate US involvement in the incident, Pakistani government is quite vocal about Indian intrusion in Baluchistan, but on the critical matter of American intents and aggression in the area, one found them at complete utter silent, even supporting BLA without American node of the head is not possible for Indians, Americans are using these deserted areas as focal point of their operations, a buffer Afghanistan is just a mere corridor which NATO is trying to secure, what US need to transport Caspian reserves is a port, now one can use flight of his imagination about which port I am talking about. Motives behind that attack? Well after reviewing all above it’s quite easy to speculate possibilities of the answers, Iran is visible threat not only to American interests, but also for Israel, so both are running their proxies through Jundullah and various other groups, mainly Sunni, task is to harm Iranians through hijacking the sectarian issue and use this specific element to flourish the Iraqi model, its relative to note that a part of Jundullah, Mujahidin-e-Khalq is another major Anti-Iranian element supported and bloomed by US and Israel to nurse thire interests and serve against Iran on military level while IAE and UN to exert the political pressure, few convicted members of the these groups have admitted their connections with the US in Iranian courts. By using Pakistani soil in these attacks, US is trying to hit two birds with one stone. Pak Iran relations off late are driven by such events, Iran’s growing relations with India and diplomatic coldness towards Pakistan has made lot of people concerned, one aspect of the attack which ultimately cause diplomatic quarrel between Pakistan and Iran could be intention in the minds of architect of the attacks about dragging long awaiting Pak Iran gas pipeline (PIP, it was PIIP before India quit) in to trouble waters, deal instigated in 1995, when Pakistan and Iran signed a preliminary agreement for construction of a natural gas pipeline linking the Iranian South Pars natural gas field in the Persian Gulf with Karachi. Iran later proposed an extension of the pipeline from Pakistan into India which not only would’ve benefit Pakitsan from Iranian natural gas exports, but Pakistani territory supposed to be used as a transit route to export gas to India which will ultimately help in nullifying motives of confrontations over energy shortage in region, but after almost 13 years India finally decided to quit the project in 2008, probably because of the reason that they do not want to use Pakistan’s territory as source of such huge investment for obvious strategic concerns, and offcourse India couldn’t be part of any economical development plan which is against US will, Pakistan is also facing harsh “criticism” from the US on the project. Project was named as “peace pipeline” and was finally signed between two governments just recently, but the details were yet to be decided , intentions of continuing on with process could’ve received serious jolt by this attack on Iran considering the Iranian reaction over the issue, it could possibly be an object or at least a “planned side effect” of the event as project after its completion will cause Pakistan to have less dependency on oil and will weaken another foreign card in shape of petro-dollar lever, which both of our “friends” (Saudis+Arabs) and US tends to use more often to interfere into Pakistan’s domestic matters.
Historically there are evident speculations about Iranian association in perusing for Baluchistan, Islamic revolution probably hasn’t effected the spirit of Iranian nationalism that’s why perhaps their state of mind is still quite a xeno-phobia-ic reflection of Iranian nationalism when it comes to claiming the borders of 2000 year old civilization, Iran was and in some degree even today involved in causing destabilization in Baluchistan, by supporting groups of their liking, various accounts on Pak-Iran border have been recorded in which there was collision between the Pakistani and Iranian security forces, when Pakistani forces were reportedly tackling Incursion from across the borders, Pakistan has always kept a lid on the matter and hasn’t gone vigorously on the subject because of apparent goodwill and spirit of friendship, Instead Pakistan has opposed UN resolutions which were meant to impose sections on Iran by playing an active role in security council and IAE platform, Iranians have to keep these facts in their minds and should accept the broad mind Pakistani approach as positive intent of building strong bilateral relations on the bases of existing mutual spirit of brother hood among the common mass of both countries, declaring intentions of having a hot pursuit in Pakistani lands is definitely not going to help the cause.
Pakistan and Iran are facing same menace of terrorism instigated by the foreign forces, those forces are using some misguided (in some cases) theocratic rebels to achieve the job, both countries have same challenges to compete with, it’s hard to believe that Iran doesn’t know about US involvement in region and if they are aware, then it is the inevitability of the time that they should seriously think about joining hands with Pakistan to face this confronting front instead pointing finger to another victim of same vanity by acting upon the emotional responses. It’s very complicated situation, which is quite tricky to be named at this point of time, both Pakistan and Iran should be rational enough to consider about all the sides and angles of this asymmetrical object. its strange how Iran says Pakistan should put a hold on cross border movement ! what a load of BS… is it a Pakistan only border? how about Iran get a hold of their border? and if their intelligence is so good to blame us ! how about stopping the incident when they had the Intel?
a very good article on the role of US in creating more and more and more battle zones around the globe, and they attacking them in the name of peace. How very unfortunate by the so called civilized nation of the world.
I think Iran is right to an extent! They provided intelligence to Pakistan since they cant launch direct attacks inside Pakistan like Americans and hence they can only provide intelligence to Pakistan. They have done the same in the past like any friendly government but it seems Rehman Malik is hell bent on aiding and pleasing his American masters rather then our old and time tested Iranian allies.
And closing the border is indeed impossible.
This is just propaganda. Junduallah is not being supported by any foreign group or country not it is fighting any proxy war. Junduallah is fighting against the oppression of sunni minority . Mostly it is funded by Baluch diaspora. Why are you not mentioning the atrocities of Iran against ethnic Baluch minority? Why you don’t mention extra-judicial killings and summery executions. This is completely untrue that Junduallah is foreign supp supported , it reality it is home grown. While we are properly aware of Pakistan Iran collusion against Baluch people, Pakistan received Iranian military aid including helicopters to be used on innocent Baluch people in 1973 insurrection. So was not Pakistan fighting proxy war of Iran? Now, again Pakistan is fighting proxy war in Waziristan on the behest of America. Pakistan is american stooge and proxy, not JUNDUALLAH. Get the facts straight.
In a recent suicide attack in southeastern Iran, dozens of Revolutionary Guards lost their lives along with an important commander. Jundullah, an important Balochi resistance group with alleged links to Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for this attack. Jundullah is active in the Sistan-Baluchestan province where these attacks took place. True to its policy of aggression, Iran immediately blamed Pakistan for facilitating these terrorists and demanded the extradition of Abdel Malik Rigi; the alleged leader of Jundullah hiding in Pakistan. Ahmadinejad also embroiled the United States and Britain as responsible for these attacks. An Iranian general went to the extent of asking permission to attack Pakistan to capture the alleged perpetrators of this attack.
Now let us dissect Iranian policy in the Sistan-Baluchestan province of Iran, which has seen a lot of military offensives in recent years. The province is dominated by ethnic Balochis; they are Sunnis and thus practice a different sect of Islam from the majority Shiite Iranians. Iran has a long history of oppressing Balochis and denying them basic human rights. Hundreds have been brutally murdered on false charges of terrorism while thousands are under police detention.
They are denied of proper education and economic opportunities and are one of the poorest ethnic groups in Iran. Their situation in neighboring Pakistan is not much different except for the fact that they are allowed to freely practice their faith. A brutal army “oppression” is underway in Pakistani Balochistan and there have been reports of widespread violation of human rights. Pakistani Balochistan also shares a border with Afghanistan and the capital city of Quetta has a strong presence of Taliban, along with speculation about Mullah Omar, and the American ambassador in Pakistan expressed serious concerns over it.
This site should be rather called” pro punjab” It is spreading propaganda against Baluch nation who are fighting 100% just war on both sides of boarder. http://www.pro-punjab.com. best of luck.
Dear Khosa Baloch! Jundullah has been labeled as terrorist organization by our country and hence we ought to call it a terrorist organization. Secondly, the Shia or Sunni is not a problem based on which you can justify their movement. In fact, if this is the justification of Jundullah, i think it has already lost its credibility in the eyes of our readers as well as Pakistani and Iranian nation. It is the narrow minded people as well as traitors of Islam, who try to divide the Muslims based on sects. We believe in same Allah, same Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Same Quran and hence we are followers of same religion. The minor differences between Shia and Sunni are well respected and hence we strive for bridging the divide created by our enemies, whom the terrorist organization jundullah is expediting.
By the way, being based in Lahore, i thought you will be in fact trying to bridge the gap between Punjabis and Pashtuns while in fact you are doing the opposite. I am also Pashtun and i try my best to keep racists out of our country.
Junaid has replied briefly to the query raised by Mr. Khosa through highlighting major points and by presenting background. Let me clear one more thing, here at pro-Pakistan.com, we are “Pro-Pakistan” and Baluchistan is the part of the idea, people are absolutely die-hard believers of the concept that common mass of Baluchistan should be granted with their constitutional rights within the geographical and ideological boundaries of Pakistan. Falling into the ethnic trap and declaring it as an excuse to act like pawns for the external forces in Pakistan and raising sectarian hate to get even more marginalize in Iran is not going to help the cause, there are complains from Baluchs and they are rightfully vocal & angry about it, but one should sit and sort a peaceful solution with the original stake holders rather than taking orders from US and pro-US forces, if someone is saying that whatever Jundullah and BLA are doing is on their own, then I am sorry nobody will buy this theory, There is hard evidence of Indian and US involvement in planning and financing each terrorist act, PM Singh has already accepted credibility of the evidence provided by Pakistan in NAM summit plus there are various intelligence reports about US involvement and penetration in Jundullah, kindly review the article for further references or read Seymour Hersh’s story on the matter published in New Yorker magazine.
@ MJK. Let me remind you, Pakistan and Iran jointly effort to marginalize and crush the genuine demands of Baluch people, it is historically on record. Iran supplied Pakistan with gun-ship helicopters during 1973 insurgency. So labeling Junuduallah as terrorist is not something that comes as surprise. You must not buy only Pakistan prospective of junduallah that is outrightly flawed. Try to get Junduallah prospective too. It never said it is against shia or fars(persian). It just wants more rights and even is willing to negotiate with Iran and to lay down arms. Why you don’t mention summery executions, extra judicial killings and illegal detentions. Junduallah is right or wrong, it is completely an other issue, but just blaming junduallah for all mess in West Baluchistan(Iran-Baluchistan) as your article does isn’t ideal journalism. Iran is equally ti blame, if not more . Every body knows Baluchistan is least developed province of Iran as it is in Pakistan, so people down there have some of them most perceived and genuine grievances , which are still unresolved and it is but natural that there would be some sort of reaction. I can not be ambassador of Pashtoon-Punjabi unity, since i hail from neither ethnicity , my ethnicity is shown by my name.
@AHSON MALICK. Let me tell you no body want to separate from Pakistan , but attitude of latter forced people to think about this option. When you will deny people of their political, constitutional and economical rights for long 62 years, what will be their reaction? Instead of granting rights, state of Pakistan leashed brutal army operations resulting in death of several civilians further deepening grievances . State source of Pakistan has confirmed 5 thousand death in 1973-77 military operation in Baluchistan. Serious human right violation is being carried out by Pakistan military and para military troops that includes burning people alive, throwing them out of mountains and dropping people out of helicopter. Thousands political activist, students and nationalist leader have been mysteriously abducted by state agencies, with out any charge or trial which is serious human right violation as well as of Pakistan law. Yes. Baluchistan is part of Pakistan , but just on paper. We heard about most taunted Baluchistan package, which has been rejected by nationalist parties, is nowhere to see, it clearly shows intention of Pakistan. Autonomy is missing since forceful annexation of Baluchistan into Pakistan. Sadly saying, 80% of the Baluch people living in Baluchistan have lost their trust in Pakistan. I was also voiced by ” Dawn” Pakistan leading news paper. And losing trust is different than losing trust on political party or certain individual. Losing trust in very existence of state have many times resulted in drawing of new geographical boundaries, I fear same fate awaits Pakistan.
I must assure you Khosa Baloch that i am one of the staunch supporter of Baloch rights and i have already highlighted the discriminatory attitude of the centre towards Balochistan. I must also assure you that few educated people in Centre and Punjab understand the problem but the irony is that unless the people of Balochistan and NWFP understand the true means to raise their voice, no one will hear them. They will only be dubbed as terrorists and gun lovers while their genuine demands for provincial rights will be masked by the terrorist label.
Even now Pashtuns are associated as taxi drivers and bus drivers. While in fact, this is primarily because the provinces have not received their due rights from the centre. NWFP has been given Rs. 110 billion of Electricity dues just because ANP has agreed to support the PPP government on some issues of national importance. So in other words, our money is used to buy us. And i know for fact that Balochistan Rs 700 billion is yet to be paid by Central Government in Islamabad and that is more then enough to change the face of the province. However, supporting Jundullah will never help the Baloch cause.
The media is controlled by Sindh, the government is controlled by Punjab and the politics is controlled by Lahore while industry is controlled by few selected families. War on Terror is fought on Pashtun lands and the Centre don’t even share the details of the foreign funding for the War on Terror with the provinces who are worst affected.
I am all aware of whats happening but i still choose a peaceful means against this discriminatory attitude because i know the people of neither province are against their brothers in other provinces. It is just the leaders who never represent the masses and hence we can only play against them by convincing the educated and patriotic Pakistani’s.
@MJK. I completely agree with you, that many people want to see resolution of Baluchistan problem. But they do not call the shots in country’s affairs. Even senior politicians and worthier credentials understand the problem and are eager to solve it out, but they are toothless. Slightly sane person can tell the solution of Baluchistan problem: Grant provincial autonomy, release political prisoners and student activists , change the criteria of resources distribution through NFC award . I can not understand the need of forming committees, recommendations etc such unnecessary stuffs. We all know this is all eye wash, since in past we have seen formation of such committees with out any result, so how come Baluch people thrust it now? It is impossible to trust them anymore. Whole brigades has been deployed to Baluchistan, which is seriously violating human rights. In September and October at least 13 people went missing including three women allegedly have been picked up By ISI. So women abduction, is this not shocking and I think you KNOW Baluch tradition well. Such acts will only further already marginalize Baluch people. ALL know the grievances here in Baluchistan are deep and such appalling acts are just deepening them. Most people are not against federation but state is leaving them with no option as you can see by yourself. Regards.
