The successful T20 world cup winning captain Younis Khan resigned from ODI captaincy today. The resign came as a protest at match-fixing allegations made against the team by a senior member of parliament. After Pakistan ended its campaign in the semi finals at Chamions Trophy 2009, Jamshed Dasti was quick to remark it as deliberate defeats from Australia and NZL.
Today, Eijaz Butt, Younis Khan and Intekhab Alam appeared before sports committee and in a result Younis resigned. Details of the sports committee session are still to hit media. Younis gave a fairly straight answer on his resignation:

Everybody can sense there is more than just criticism… But I believe it is totally wrong and disgraceful for Pakistan cricket. Look at Jamshed Dasti, probably he needs some eye test or brain to judge cricketers performance. How can a last ball win match be fixed?? Are our players robots who could make such a perfect hard battled match that is lost at the last ball…haah! give us break Dasti sb; you definitely need to understand cricket more! We earlier made a post on how Mike Hussey defended Team Pakistan on such absurd allegations. You can read that blog post here. One of our authors Owais, had following to say on the ongoing controversy:
What is your take on this new cricketing drama? Leave us your comments (and shhh we won’t censor your comments if you abuse mr. Dasti shhh shhhh) Related Articles |

Our politicians can’t clean the mess inside the parliament house but are more then ready to throw dirt at our competent cricketers. They should better learn some basics of cricket and sportsmanship and then think of throwing dirt at our most respected cricketers.
Bravo Younis Khan. We all Support You.
