Wasim Akram , our fast bowling legend burst into tears of joy after the International Cricket Council (ICC) inducted his name in Hall of Fame.”It was really a moment of joy for me when I was told that I have been included in the list of great players. I feel a sense of achievement,” Wasim, regarded as the greatest left-armed pacer, said.

Three other Pakistan legends; Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad and Imran Khan are already in the list. “It is something very satisfiying. The honour has come following sheer dedication and hard work. It is not something that comes automatically. I am really thankful to those who think I have contributed to the game, I still remember and feel about those early days when I was totally new to international cricket. I learnt each day in the company of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad. They were there to help me and I felt great in their company.”

“Learning is an on-going process. I never have spent a single day during my playing career when I did not learn.”

“I have spent some very hard times and at the same time some great feelings and none was better than the day when we won the 1992 World Cup in Australia. I was even more delighted because in the final at Melbourne, I the won Man of the Match award as my performance helped the team won the elusive Trophy.”
