English Defence League, a self acclaimed defender of the rights of British people, has been organizing violent protests for past few months. The EDL organized rallies across the UK to stir violence based on religion and race. This group has even been termed as fascist by many white people and hence are opposed widely. Their opposition is evidence from the fact that the group has hardly attracted 200 to 300 people to its widely publicized rallies against the so called Fundamentalist Islam. I wonder why the English Defence League only directs its energies against Muslims in Britain and face opposition from people from across the UK including a heavy majority of non-Muslims?
 Rally by Anti Fascists EDL Alliance Credits PA Recently, the fascists of EDL arranged a so called peaceful demonstration in Birmingham city. According to the website of Fascist EDL:
As many people are now aware, we at the the English Defense League are holding a demonstration in Birmingham on Saturday 5th September to oppose Islamic Extremists. We would like to state that anyone who wishes to cause trouble, or use this demonstration to voice any other issues other than Islamic Fundamentalists, Radical Islam and Sharia will be turned away. We are not a Fascist organization, and urge anyone who know’s of anybody who is intent on causing trouble on the day to contact us.
We have decided to post the details of this Demonstration for all to see in the interests of safety, and to cooperate with West Midlands Police to ensure that this event is conducted smoothly and nobody is hurt. We would like to appeal to the UAF, or any other counter demonstrations present on the day to listen to our message this time, and not to attack us as a “Fascist” organisation. We do not want a repeat of the confrontations seen in Birmingham on the 8th August this year.
Do note what they have preached and what was the reality in their acts as were witnessed by the whole world on the D-Day. According to Sunday Mercury report about the events on the day of the supposedly peaceful rally by fascists of EDL.
Cops had been aware for four weeks that the English Defence League planned a second rally in the city, after an August 8 protest ended in violence and arrests.
But negotiations with the group counted for nothing when the protesters ignored an agreed schedule, and made their way into the New Street area to confront anti-fascist rivals.
What followed was more than three hours of running battles in the streets. Terrified shoppers locked themselves inside stores and cafes as they tried to avoid the fighting.

By the end of the afternoon, cops had arrested more than 30 people as they struggled to prevent the protests spilling over.
Trouble began when members of the English Defence League, who had travelled from Luton and Bristol, met up at the Figure of Eight pub in the Broad Street entertainment area.
Although their protest against Islamic extremism had been agreed with police to take place at 3.30pm in Lancaster Square, they gathered at 12.30pm and started downing pints of lager.
In the pub they brandished signs reading: “Islamic Extremists Out” and “Make Britain Safe”. They sang the national anthem and Rule Britannia, then yelled insults against Allah and Islam.
But then they left the pub en masse, catching cops unawares, and headed into New Street. Arriving at 2pm, they clashed with 30 or so socialist protesters holding up banners saying: “Give the EDL the red card.”
Shaven-headed men, some with bulldogs, squared up to the rival protesters before riot police intervened. Bottles and glasses were thrown and masked men were seen wielding wooden poles.
Punches began to be thrown and the police used their batons in an attempt to stop the violence escalating further. But it was clear that further confrontation was likely.
The Fascists EDL hypocrisy has been exposed since we have already shared with you what they claimed and how they tried to depict themselves as peaceful citizens of Britain while what they actually did on the day of the demonstration.

After an hour of angry skirmishes, cops finally trapped around 60 EDL members in Bennett’s pub. It was now 3.30pm, and in the hour that followed the group fuelled their fury with more booze.
The situation deteriorated as a group of 60 Asian men, not thought to be part of the original socialist protest, gathered and tried to storm the pub, but were held back by police using shields and protective headgear.
Moments later the gang re-appeared on a nearby street, throwing missiles and bricks they had picked up from a builder’s skip missed by police in their earlier sweep of the area.
Eye-witness Sarah Edwards, who was locked in a cafe with dozens of other shoppers, said: “We suddenly saw what seemed to be about 200 Asian men running down the street, throwing bricks.
“They came from nowhere, and were sprinting towards the pub where the English Defence League lot were. They wore bandanas over their faces and they were shouting and screaming.
“We were so scared. We feared for our lives and we had to run into the cafe so we wouldn’t get hurt.
“It’s shocking to see this on our streets.” Police finally shepherded the EDL from Bennett’s pub into double-decker buses. As the convoy made its way to the originally planned demonstration at Lancaster Circus, drunken men were seen ripping up the seats and throwing them out of the window.
Socialists shouted: “Nazi scum, out of Brum”
It is worth mentioning here that the members of English Defence League were holding the flag of Israel, which clearly shows presence of Jews among their ranks.
The group has been demanding that the government should ban Islamic Sharia Law and not to allow building any further mosques. Both demands stand no group and warrants a full investigation into the affairs of the fascist EDL as to how it has been receiving funding and who are beneficiary of their acts. Disrupting the lives of common citizens in Birmingham in specific and whole UK in general is a big crime. The group is trying to divide the otherwise peaceful multi cultural environment of Britain. The results of such divide, if created, will be disastrous for the whole region.

Update : We received an e mail from Jacob Pres, National Director Jewish Defense League (JDL), UK, who clarified the position of Jews on this development. He has clearly distanced the Jews from the this Fascist organization in the following words:
I was so appalled & depressed that any Muslim can think that this is any sort of Jewish, Israeli, or Zionist influence, element, or even leadership within the nazi organisation the english defence league. They are made up exclusively of past members of combat 18, and the national front, both openly anti-semitic, nazi groups in england, active in the 1970s & 1980s. At a recent edl “fun day” they were burning the Israeli flag. The edl also use the flag of Israel as an alternative to the urinal in thier members only pub.
The only reason the edl bring the flag to their revolting demonstrations, is the (HOPEFULY) misguided belief that it antagonises Muslims - I do not actualy believe that it occured to these rscist ANGLO-SAXONS that Muslims would take this as signifying that there were Jews within, or leading the edl - that is a revolting and hugely misguided suggestion, and imensely offensive & repulsive to all decent Jews, wether Zionists, or not.
The tone of many comments from those claiming to be Muslims, are no different to the nazi propoganda of the 1940s - a secret Jewish conspiracy leading this unsavoury group, is proposterous, but very dangerous - It gives the edl what they crave, division between the two peoples they despise the most.

To say that the presence of an Israeli flag shows that Jews are clearly present or sponsors (as the caption with the photo says) is baseless assumption and is clearly racist as it is anti-Jewish. So, you attack this group for being anti-Islam and then attack the Jews. So, according to you, only Muslims seem to have the right to criticise other groups / faiths.
And you have to ASK why only Islam is targetted? Add to that 7/7, failed terror attacks, protests against servicemen and trying to impose an Islamic way of life, and you STILL need to ask the question?

Why is that a problem, representative of the “Religion of Peace”? It appears you need a lesson in Civilization, which the Indians will do, soon enough….just as they have done, before.
The Socialists or Asians who tried to defend their localities against the fascists of EDL never took out the flags of the countries from which they originated and hence it clearly shows that they consider Britain as their own country. On the other hands, i am sure a Palestinian or a EDL representative, who claims to be fighting for Brits will never hold the flag of Israel either or will they? So if none of these people hold the flag of Britain i wonder who was holding and waving the flags of Israel in such a violent protests by EDL?

I was disgusted to receive an email from the racist english defence league,
asking us at the Uk chapter of the Jewish Defence League whether we wanted
to form some sort of alliance for the edl’s deplorable demonstrations
outside Mosques around england. This revolting email was obviously
motivated by the perverse belief that as Jews with the hearts of
Maccabeans, we would want to oppose Islam. They were made absolutely aware
that we support our Muslim brothers, and would proudly stand with you in
defence of your Mosques, family & faith.
Unfortunately this is another example of how the existance of the state of
Israel, without the existance of the Palastinian state with equality, is
causing a terrible divison between us.
There will be antagonism, caused by the policies of those that
currently govern the Land of Israel; policies which continue to deprive
thousands of Muslims of basic human rights. Supporters of Israel &
Zionists must also be human beings, and whilst Palastinians suffer at the
hands of prejudiced Israeli soldiers, all of those from the House of
Jacob, that are scattered around the world, will be affected, by this
injustice to Muslims.
I am sure that most Muslims ( sic. EXCEPT IT SEEMS THOSE THAT CONTRIBUTE
