World is about to witness the longest total solar eclipse of 21st century on July 22, 2009. This total eclipse of the sun will be visible from a narrow corridor to millions of people over a path of 258 Km wide through upper northern India, eastern Nepal, northern Bangladesh, Bhutan, the northern tip of Myanmar, central China and the Pacific Ocean, including the Ryukyu Islands, Marshall Islands and Kiribati.
This solar eclipse is the longest total solar eclipse lasting for up to 6 minutes and 39 seconds and will not reoccur up to such great length until June 13, 2132. The maximum eclipse will occur in the ocean at 02:35:21 UTC about 100 km south of the Bonin Islands, southeast of Japan.
Fortunately or unfortunately, people in Pakistan will not be able to skygaze this important solar event. However you can still witness this lifetime event that is expecting to get good media coverage.
