This picture is a scene from Rawalpindi’s famous Chaklala Scheme 3 market showing unsafe and hazardous electricity wires that pose a great threat to pedestrians and shoppers. I am sure there will be much more worse scenes in many other parts of our country but the question is why does conerned authorities not pay any attention to all this mess and wait for a big accident day?

Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education FBISE has released the result of Part II yesterday. The reason i am writing this blog post is that the board has improved significantly, thanks to the usage of information technology. The result can now be viewed online by clicking here. Not only this, you can also access the result through an sms by sending a text message to 5050 with your roll number to see result: The following is the format of the sms.
FB eg.
FB 1110101
I remember in our times, you had to wait for the result to reach your college or you need to have some insider contacts in Board to ask them for the results. Even few shops used to charge Rs. 10 per result. things are improving but i must confess at a very slow rate. I was lucky though since i got my result in the newspaper being a position holder (a lil self praise)
After the arrival of 6 JF 17 earlier , a new chapter begins in the history of Pakistani Defence Production as News coming in that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has started assembling of the first Pakistani-built JF 17 Thunder combat aircraft. Chief of the air staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman inaugurated the construction in a ceremony at Kamra.
This success will enhance Pakistan’s air power in the region and at international scale, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman said. He praised the Chinese cooperation and said that the joint Sino-Pak project is a living example of the cooperation between the two countries.
The News reports :
Chief of the air staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman inaugurated the construction in a ceremony at Kamra. Top military and civilian officials of Pakistan and China attended the ceremony. Pakistan and China signed an agreement for the production of 42 JF-17 fighters, which are expected to form the backbone of Pakistani aerial combat fleet in coming years.

Pakistan ambassador to France, Mr Jehanzeb Khan, is under the spot light of media for being the first ever DMG officer to be made Ambassador of Pakistan to France. The Foreign Office group is opposing this appointment since they consider it a DMG takeover of Foreign Services department. While the DMG side thinks that they are the perfect lot who are more competent then their colleagues in Foreign Services and hence the best officers should be assigned to the role instead of the people serving in the Foreign Services.
For the convenience of our readers, i will highlight that DMG and Foreign Services are two different fields chosen by the candidates while applying for CSS exam. DMG is involved with the management of districts while the Foreign Services personnel are involved with managing our foreign relations and hence both are two totally different fields and have nothing in common.
Today two different stories emergedin The News, one by the DMG officer which was published by Ansar Abbassi and the other story is published by Marianna Babar about the possible mutiny in Foreign Services group agaisnt the appointment of Jehanzeb Khan. I will first look into the statement of DMG officers as narrated by Ansar Abbassi. You can find the full story by clicking here.
In the article the DMG officer which came in defence of the appointment of Jehanzeb Khan presented his case on the basis of merit. According to him, Jehanzeb Khan is more competent then any person in the whole Foreign Services Group of Pakistan and this is one big reason that Jehanzeb Khan, a DMG officer, should lead the Pakistan Embassy in France. He further challenges the achievements of the Foreign Services Group for the last 60 years. Not only this, he take the liberty of presenting another argument that Jehanzeb Khan is a Pashtun (I am also Pashtun) and that is one strong credential that he can explain the War on Terror in a better manner to the French people and their government.
Now here is what i think as a layman!
DMG Officers don’t believe in specializations and hence they believe a person managing a district can manage country foreign policy and defend the policies of its government in Foreign capitals. I wonder if that is the case, DMG officers will surely go to a Cardiologist when they find their eye sight weak and they go to Dentists when they have pain in their leg because a competent doctor is all that matters and not his area of specilization. Local Newspaper Announcing 50 million bounty on Baitullah Mehsud
Last week a drone attack in South Waziristan killed over 80 people. The Government has not released any information regarding these individuals. There has been no disclosure of evidence to prove that all of the 80 dead were militants either. Appalled at the silence of constant drone attacks in Pakistan I scribbled down my condemnation which can be read here. I was shocked to receive comments and mails that either approved the action or condemned it along with condemning the army offensive. A reflection of staunch opinions representing
A blind eye to the ‘loss’ of civilian life by drone attacks. In some cases justifying their deaths by accusing them of harboring the Taliban.
Sympathizing with the ‘civilians’ to an extend which includes sympathizing with the ‘Taliban’ and against the army offensive.
Both of which can trigger a perplexed debate. The fact that some still doubt the credibility of army operation against the Taliban is worrisome. A recent headline in a local Urdu daily reads a message by the Taliban `announcing’ 100 million rupees bounty for Federal Minister of interior Rehman Malik. Reflecting that the Taliban still believe in having mass public sympathies.

The following is the conversation of Rashid Minhas Shaheed with the control tower just before he crashed his plane to avoid its crossing into Indian territory. I hope you all remember that an Indian RAW agent tried to hijack a PAF plane but the co-pilot Rashid Minhas Shaheed, who was undergoing training, preferred to crash it instead of crossing it into Indian territory. Till the time we have such brave people in Pakistan, we will never be harmed by treacherous enemies like India.
