According to the media reports coming out, fire has engulfed the two stories of the Marriot hotel that has recently been targeted in suicide bombing. The fire can be seen from the place where i am standing and it has engulfed the entire area in smoke. There is just one fire brigade which is trying to extinguish the fire.
It is ironic that after the last suicide bombing, there is still no adequate arrangement to over come the fire. I think no one is going to stay in this hotel after this incident. Marriot is now a history for any sane person to stay here. The government is all busy trying to figure out their political differences rather then concentrating on such problems. The residents of the city are already shocked by the last incident and now this one has already added to their miseries.

Very unfortunate and indeed very very sad. A few years ago Islamabad used to be such a beautiful and peaceful place. I wonder what is the motive behind such attacks and who benefits???
it really is a shame……You would think that there would be adequate fire fighting equipment and systems inside the building –especially after lessons learned following the barbaric terrorist attack on the building last year.
Poor Hashwani Saab must be having real headache.
For the record, i never really cared for the Marriott Hotel. Its a very ordinary looking building from the outside. I always liked the Serena Hotel.

Our smiling Mr.president wants a deal on this hotel ,he wants to purchase it “Onna-Ponna” but owner has run away from his offer,now hiding in Dubai.
