International Cricket Council (ICC) has delayed Champions Trophy by one year which was scheduled to be held in Pakistan in September, 2008. This decision was taken by ICC due to huge pressure from other ICC member countries especially Australia.
ICC delayed champions trophy for 1 year. They did this decision without taking care of the expenses which were incurred by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in order to make the champions trophy a big event. They had to return the money on T.V. rights and spent large amounts on refurbishing the stadiums. For the Champions Trophy, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was fully re-furbished. This all cost was borne by PCB.
Australia did not visit Pakistan due to security reasons but they visited India which is almost as insecure as Pakistan. Pakistan offered full proof security to Australia but they did not agree. England who also played a major role in delaying of Champions Trophy, also visited India for a test and one-day international series despite Mumbai mayhem.
Pakistan is being discriminated against for no serious problem & ICC should pay for the losses incurred by PCB.
