If you are a Pakistani blogger, i am sure you must have came across Bloggers.Pk. The Blogger.pk team (Teeth Maestro) has came out with a new “Discussion Forum”. The purpose is to discuss important issues related to Pakistan and Pakistani blogosphere. Bloggers.pk main site works as a blog aggregator for Pakistani blog sites and i remember coming across it when i started by first blog “The Land of Pure”. Being one of the pioneer bloggers of Pakistan, Teeth Maestro’s Bloggers.pk was getting a lot of traffic and almost all Pakistani blogs used to get themselves registered on it to get the much needed initial publicity. Moreover, it also offered a one stop solution to Pakistani blog readers. Since Pakistani blogosphere has shown tremendous growth in the last 2 years, the idea for starting new blog aggregators also attracted few and hence we got TeaBreak.pk. TeaBreak took out the air out of bloggers.pk with it’s colorful look and interactive layout. The success of Teabreak is not a secret hidden from many Pakistani bloggers and readers.

I think it was this success of TeaBreak.pk, which gave a new motivation to Teeth Maestro to re launch Bloggers.pk. The first sign of this renewed activity is the launch of Bloggers.pk/forums. I am sure with his experience and his loyal reader base, Teeth Maestro will manage to make it a success in the forums but i still have doubts that he will be able to outsmart the TeaBreak.pk team when it comes to Blog Aggregator for Pakistani blogs.

Anyways, we will surely look forward to the developments and will keep our readers updated on it. We also hope to see a strong Pakistani blogosphere and hence wish best of luck to all such new initiatives.

;) thanks for the healthy criticism – I think you are right when you say TeaBreak is doing a great job – I too believe they are, though I am no designer – so I have to rely on self motivation to create and patch together what I can. There does exists a fundamental difference between the two engines.

We export only excerpts of all post and do not create a permalink on our site. Our intention is not to detract traffic from the original blogger in search engines, but only to be a service for people who want to read the latest. I believe the model shall remain the same – I just need to some how reduce the freshness factor – as the more blogs that we continue to syndicate – our hourly updates get well beyond manageable. If I can handle that, im a content man…

Secondly I also believe Tea break should Turn off post commenting entirely

how about http://www.aarpix.com/buzzed ? it aggregates the aggregators.

And by the way, Teeth Maestro is right, most people in Pakistan dont know that what TeaBreak.pk is doing, is ILLEGAL! The content syndication rules allow only to fetch the excerpts and then to link to the original post for full reading. But Anyway, I think it’s ok as long as bloggers have no issue with it.

You must have come across with a similar kinda case where GateHouse sued New York Times! http://wizardies.com/2008/12/23/copyrights-conflict-gatehouse-sues-nytimes.html

hmmm! Interesting. So why don’t you all ask the tea break team to stop publishing your feeds if they are not benefiting you all. You should just all make a forum and request them to stop publishing your posts.
