We must accept one good thing about Indians is that they are very nationalists and it is evident from their recent action of setting Nokia retail outlets on fire and threatening them with further consequences if Nokia didn’t included the occupied terrorist of Kashmir in India. On its part, Nokia has expressed regrets for the incident after coming under severe pressure of further vandalism and negative propaganda in one of the world biggest market of its handsets. Nokia has termed it as a mistake and will act to rectify it. I wonder why our fellow Pakistani’s never protested at such things or are they too peaceful for any such activity? In any case, i think Pakistani’s should come out and stop using Nokia mobiles if they included the occupied Kashmir territory in the map of India. It is a fact well recognized by United Nations that Kashmir is disputed territory and hence if Nokia includes it in the map of India, it would very biased decision and hence warrants for a full fledged boycott of Nokia handsets and its other telecommunication equipment in Pakistan.
A boycott by Pakistani consumers and businesses of the Nokia will bring it to its senses as they can not afford to lose an important market like Pakistan in the same manner they don’t want to antagonize their Indian consumer base.
Irate Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists barged into a Nokia Priority outlet in Jabalpur to protest against the depiction of Kashmir as Pakistani territory in Nokia Maps, a mobile navigation software.
As soon as the word spread on the depiction of the state as a part of Pakistan, a mob of protesters turned up, destroyed property, and burnt mobile phones worth thousands of rupees. They also burnt hoardings that were placed outside the retail store. The activists urged authorities to take action against Nokia for indulging in “anti-national” activities. The protesters also clarified that they would intensify their protests should the authorities not take up the matter and if a case was not registered.
The shop-owner, however, says that burning a Nokia dealer’s shop to protest against an issue with an application developed by Nokia was uncalled for. Nokia on its part has tendered an apology and expressed regret for the error, and has added that it was an older version of Nokia Maps that had lead to this issue. Additionally, Nokia also clarified that Nokia Maps sources all maps and imagery from Navteq Inc. who have obtained approval from authorities for developing international maps depicting the coastal and international boundaries of India.
Nokia Maps come preloaded on certain handsets and offers maps of over 200 countries across the globe. (Source: Msn Technology News)

While we are fighting over honors and useless conflicts, world is fighting over economics.A company from tiny country taking on whole world, setting up retails in any part of world. Such is advantage of being neutral country and separating religion from politics. Religion-poliics was important for pre-partition India. Is i now time we project our self as moderate like for example Malaysia?
i wish we were nationlist, if we as a nation were nationlist we would have been in a much better shape….alas
Right…!! But now i believe that we don have enough time to repent about bad things we did in the past, nor its the time for the blame game…We need to take our first step toward becoming true Nationalists and if we didnt change our track now, perhaps, we wont even then b havin time to repent over it..
Praying for Motherlands bright future.
Regards..!!
Lets spread the word about this action of Nokia and lets decide that our next mobile shud not be Nokia at least. The revolution will start from our own selves. Lets change our selves first and initiate a silent revolution.

very good and positive comments here including this one which is my fav. OK, I promise no more nokia. A company that has no sense of even international borders, at least doesnt deserve my hard earned money. Most of the nokia rubbish is all the same phones, with the same software, with a different plastic cover. So lets start correction from ourselves, and promise ourselves that we will never buy a Nokia again.
Next step is to let Nokia know, what we as a Pakistani nation think, and intend to do too, so to give them a chance to correct themselves too. If they dont, then I suppose i have better choices any way.
India contributes 5-6 billion $ to nokia revenue
so nokia is heavily dependent on india:)
How is Kashmir Pakistani territory? Or how did you come to conclusion that after 60 years of separation that Kashmir will be given as gift to Pakistan. After another 60 years, New Delhi and so forth. Is that the agreement???
I don’t understand this, Kashmir is integral part of India.
and those who want to internationalize this issue and thus get the land by political agenda will not be successful in their mission.
