Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo named European Footballer of the Year

The most popular game of the world is Football. Football is very popular in Europe, South America, Asia and some part of Middle East but it’s always ignored here in sub-continent. I am still finding the reason of its ignores. Me and many of Pakistani who love to play and watch football knows Cristiano Ronaldo well, He is my favorite and hope many of you too. Today I write some thing about his yesterday achievement so have a look please.

Portuguese star (Striker of Manchester United) Cristiano Ronaldo (Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro) was named European Footballer of the Year on Tuesday, reward for his brilliant performances for Manchester United as they completed the Premier League and Champions League double.

Ronaldo, 23, won the prestigious trophy after scoring 42 goals as Manchester United won the Champions League and Premier League last season. Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was second and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was third. The Portuguese star is the first from his country to win the coveted award which is given by ‘France Football’ since Luis Figo in 2000.
