Somehow the name Shaukat is getting special attention in the financial circles of Pakistan. First it was the first financial wizard Shaukat Aziz who told us fairy tales and eventually led us into a quagmire of inflation and joblessness an
d now we have a new Shaukat in the form of Shaukat Tareen that is surely going to make us the slaves of IMF forever. No matter what, Musharraf did let us get out of the tentacles of IMF but he never knew that there are many agents of IMF inside our system which will make sure that IMF is back in the forefront of our economic decisions for the next decade.
The name of IMF is attached with democracy in Pakistan. In 1990′s when the ugly face of democracy emerged in Pakistan, IMF came with it as if IMF and democracy are bundled together. Then came the Musharraf government which was termed as dictatorial regime but no matter what, that dictatorial regime rid us of the dictation of our financial masters sitting in the West. The new political government under the leadership of PPP has reintroduced the IMF in the Pakistani democracy.
An institutions whose head is chosen based on political consideration can never be impartial just like World Bank. Just imagine that Europe and America have an understanding on the Presidency of World Bank and IMF and hence Europe selects the head of IMF while America selects the head of World Bank. No matter whose on merit and who deserves to become the President, it is only America and Europe that can influence the final decision. When such corrupt practices are followed at the top most level of such big multilateral institutions, how can we expect good out of them.
Anyways, in the end let me explain the title of this blog! I read hte Headline of The News and Dawn and that was the instantaneous reaction to it. The headlines went something like that “We havent approached IMF yet”. The way our financial advisor speaks seems as if he has been running some Chabbri in a Sabzi Mandi of any Pakistani city because he plans in days and hours and not for the future of Pakistan. Few days back he was presenting PLAN A, PLAN B and PLAN C and i right away could guess that the only plan that is going to work is Plan C and today he is going towards it by he says that “We still have few days before we approach IMF”. Therefore, my Pakistani brothers you can rejoice and party because we have few more days to live a financial independence before Shaukat Tareen under the able leadership of PPP sell us and our children off to the IMF dictates sitting in the West.

We and our children are already sold by musharraf to West, this Shaukat Tareen is trying to get some more bucks (raising our price tags post sales). But, he has left with no option, the General planned our destruction well and now his brothers in Army is protecting him from even been questioned on the funds received in past.
I don’t think blaming general for all our present crises would be justice. The present leadership has also wasted months on stupid issues. They didnt restore judges nor they did anything on the 17th amendment. Lastly, even the issue of the inquiry into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto has been moved to cold storage. There is no finance minister and imported finance advisers are running the show.
It was not bcz of musharraf’s policies, it was due to 9/11 that expats felt unsecure abroad and started sending money to pak and thats the reason we had good reserves but thanks to our corrupt Army & politicians we are in a miserable situation………..
In short our rulers whether they belong to Army (who is still the real ruler of our beloved country) or politians are NOT SINCERCE with PAKISTAN………….
Aamer Q: If that was true, our Forex reserves would not have dropped at all. Musharraf turned around Pakistani economy in more than on way. You would have known it better had you been into business.
I agree with Zee that Musharraf government has a lot of contribution into this whole economic uplifting of Pakistan.
I am interested in estsblishing a new political party in Pakistan, any idea, where should we begin and what ideology we should go for..Advice and comments will be appreciated.

THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING BUT HORIBLE STOY OF PAKISTAN.. WE ALL KNOW THAT ALL THE PAKISTANIS KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT IT, BUT… THE GOVERNMENT HAS ENGAGED ALL OF US IN OTHER PROBLEMS OF LIFE, THAT WE CANNOT EVEN RAISE A LITTLE OBJECTION OVER ALL OF THESE ACTIONS OF GOVERNMENT WHICH ARE TOTALLY AGAINST THE SOVERIGNITY OF PAKISTAN. tHE LEADERS ARE ONLY VERY VERY BUSY IN SATISFYING THEIR OWN INTERESTS…
