UBazar - Ufone New Advertisement Service Portal

by Teleco Analyst on October 15, 2008

Ufone is always ahead when it comes to launching new products. UBazar is one amazing product which has not received proper marketing from the operator or our fellow bloggers. According to Ufone website:

UBazar is the first of its kind advertisement portal where you can sell/purchase property, Cars/Motorbikes and home appliances.

The process is very simple. You just have to dial into the IVR based portal and follow the instructions. You are given a time slot of 45 seconds to advertise your product after choosing the appropriate category and city for it. The call charges are Rs.2 plus taxes per minute and hence its cheap when compared to other media points available on the network. Similiarly you can also listen to the related advertisements in your city by following the instructions on the IVR based portal and the above mentioned charges will be applicUbazarable. Bear in mind the fact that all the advertisement messages are verified by the Ufone team and hence spamming or other irrelevant messages will not bypass them. Therefore dont waste your money trying to test the limits.

The product has tremendous potential if properly utilized but some how in Pakistan the penetration rate of such serivices is not that high. What do you think might be a reason for low penetration of these services in Pakistani market?

I like that UFone is offering all these things but one way or the other they come up a little short of expectations…BIG advertising and minor results…like their Blackberry for Prepaid users fiasco. they should try and focus on subdued by beneficial services like SMS4NET by WOL & Ward/Mobilink which enable users to get internet over sms anytime without scratching internet cards. These kinda services really help, especially female students. :))
