Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has finally resigned from the prestigious post of the President of Pakistan . It is unfortunate as to how he resigned without giving an tough time to his rivals. I have always mentioned of not being Pro-Musharraf but his resignation did come as a shock to me . He has always posed to be a strong man and this was surely not expected of him . There must have been a lot of external and internal pressures piled up on him that is all I can think of . His speech reflected strain and pressure , this is an utter shock . The un-usual hype created by the media and PPP has actually turned out to be true . I wonder what happened to all those messages coming from the President that he will face the impeachment charges. This will surely harm his image and give the political opportunists more space .
We the team of Pro Pakistan wish that now the threat of Musharraf is over, the politicians do their best to take out the country out of the present crises instead of only blaming the past government for the misfortunes facing the country. Instead of Zardari blaming Musharraf and PML-Q, it is a golden opportunity for them to make a difference in the short life of our country, Pakistan

Hello. your assesment of internal and external pressure is right. However i think you should not forget musharafs own wish to be no source for further complications in pakistan, wich will be blamed on him and deliver him nothing.
At least i think it’s a major element in his decission, also the pressure would continue, actually making the presidential position useless, probably he neither sees a clear way out of this, that would not mess up pakistan more. ALthough he doesnt vye for your peoples pitty, he does stress his commitment to pakistan several times in this historic speech.
Thank you for your positive and interesting report. One thing that is worth mentioning is that since the current policys don’t have the outspoken character of musharrafs, for now i think the pakistani situation is more confused, and her international position more marginal, then it used under musharraf. In other words, i somewhat wonder if the position is that prestigious. For me it depends the person. Unfortunately i think musharafs predications are not over yet, and we can expect a whole lot of showtrial etc. still, but that is what the international media suggest and may not be the actual situation in pakistan(proper).
Thank you for visiting our site and for appreciating the post . I agree with your point of you , the uncertainties are bound to be in the air. And yes it certainly does seem that Mush’s predictions are not over as yet there is more to come . We should also understand that living on the extreme will attain us nothing . We as a nation should learn to appreciate both good and bad sides of a person or a situation . Some Of mush’s policies worked against the nation and his image but there were many constructive initiatives also .Overall the media played a vital role towards provoking anti mush sentiments and creating a air of negativity. Lets hope the future holds betterment for the nation . Thank you for you valuable comment once again
wish to see you clicking more often
Generally Pakistanis get bored of a leader after three years and they need change. That is the reason that they were against PPP government and welcome Nawaz and then distributed sweets when Musharraf removed Nawaz government in 1999. Same was witnessed this time at the resignation of Musharraf. I think we should change our attitude and should not offer nawafils for removal of Musharraf as we still have two other leaders at the helm of the affairs, who are even more corrupt and selfish. These are the same leaders who left us when we needed them and only came back when it was time to get into the government and to further loot our poor country Pakistan.
