According to reports Pakistan and Iran have joined hands to curb sectarianism . The decisons were taken after a meeting at the interior ministry between Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik and Irans Acting Minister for Interior Seyed Mehdi Hashemi.

What must be considered of great importance is that both the countries agreed to form a joint committee comprising Ulema and scholars from both sects. The background of Shia-Sunni clashes was discuused at great lenght. Issues such as extremism were also discussed and both parties agreed on drawing ways of tackling them .The meeting is expected to pave the way to harmony while discussing vital issues and listing ways in which mutual agreements could be reached.

This holds great importance both in regards of it being a way of paving strong bonds on political and religous levels. Such an oarrangement can only be made ,when two entities share a comfrot zone . It is quite pleasing to see two muslim countries holding strong bonds and planning to bond together in terms of religion . This is a vital step in working towrds Unity among muslims.
