An answer to that question on either side of the equation is highly volatile !. High sentiments are associated with both sides of the debate. While a lot of people I know want Mush to be removed this way or the other, there are many who continue to believe in his ‘strategy’ . However inhuman it might sound there are people out there who would justify how their wishing for a man’s death is a mere ‘tit for tat’ . So lets say KILL HIM ! Now what ? . Do we seriously believe that this is a one man show ? That there are no other conspiracies and forces involved? . To every man goes his share of mistakes , but what makes matters worse is when his share causes much harm to the rest . Our dear president has made certain decisions which cant be rationalized. The Lal masjid fiasco being one of them . I don’t suggest that there was nothing wrong with ‘posing to be a state under a state’ and violating laws and imposing self proclaimed shariah . There were problems , there were obvious issues , but we expected or may be hope now that loss of life should have been minimized. YES ! I know exactly that the government waited all this time , 6 days with tanks and heavy weaponry outside the mosque’s boundary. One can only imagine the fear prevailing inside the building on people who were naïve and helpless.
I don’t claim to be an analyst , neither do I claim to impose my strategy . I am a mere Pakistani and I only want to shut down this dirty game . The game of blame and brain washing , if Lal masjid clerics did brainwash people ,our media takes steps further to enhance their effect .Media’s U-TURN with Mush’s policy will only result in a larger harm to the nation . For once and for All GO MUSHARAF GO ! Is not the end of our problems. Lets not be PRO MUSHARAF , lets not support him but also lets not indulge our people into this dilemma of false hopes. Lets not blame all our problems on one man and plod along with the conspiracies of those who only seek ‘ self- interest‘.
It is about time that we get our selves out of this mess !. With or without Musharaf this country has an awful lot of problems which will not move an inch if Musharaf was to step down or stay . We need to stop talking and start working !. The sky will not start pouring down food and petrol just because we kicked our dear president out . Let’s stop playing the blame game and do something constructive for ourselves. With or without Musharaf there is a lot more to Pakistan , a lot more that we as a nation can do . I don’t see any hands tied up do you ?

Musharraf is unpopular because our dear democrats in the previous opposition and the free and fair media kept flinging dirt at him. These democrats and media are no angels, we all are aware of their corruption and now that they are in power, we have shifted to the reverse gear.
Now what lies in one man’s character, that makes all these kleptocrats unite under one banner of Go Mush Go?
As for the Lal Masjid fiasco, highly played up by our media and an excellent opportunity for anti-Mushs to suggest that thousands died, I want to know:
1) Where are the dead bodies of the thousands?
2) Media was not allowed inside for 2-3 days. But they did surround the perimeter. Two to three days is not enough to bury even 2000 bodies. And even if they were, where? If the bodies had been taken out of the perimeter, the media certainly would have seen them do it. Lots of ambulances, trucks, carts, whatever would have been needed. Now if they buried the dead right there in Jama-e-Hafsa, it’s back under Mullah control. Why don’t they dig and prove it?
3) Why don’t we see the parents of the 5000 dead girls and children on the media? If someone [allegedly] goes missing, we see their relatives on Geo and other channels crying for help. This opportunity could have been the single most deadly blow to Mush’s regime, had their been that many casualties.
The problem here is that no one questions the allegations of these people and even if someone does, they start screaming about “Attacks on the freedom of the media” like small children. Well, bad children need to be punished sometimes.
Lately on the media, we don’t see that many people bashing criminals as those who bash law-enforcement authorities and the best scapegoat for any occasion: the Pakistan Army.
Mr. SWAJ
Well as for the Media we haven’t seen any who condemned this brutal act that was carried out in Lal Masjid, just give me oneexample of such kind, Infact media was stressing that why the operation was delayed. So indirectly media was supporting it.
Now why would media support it,well just watch one of our channels these days just for a day(you would definatley find a lot of enlightnely moderate creatures there”creatures of course”) and you will find the answer(the massage parlour, the aunti shamim fiasco all this is against the policies that our dear media channels are pursuing these days.
As for the dead bodies, thge cold storages near Pir Vedhai are said to have been emptied out to accomodate the phosphorically burnt bodies including women and young students.
But anyway ,doesn’t matter if anyone kills mushi or not he would get his due from Divine that is for sure and no one can challenge it .He is not the only one but certainly one of them.
@sawj I mailed you the reply as i dont want to post long comments here !:) tahnks again for visiting

@ kashif thank you for visiting us
I do agree with you on a lot of things , death tolls have been kept in secrecy as in any army operation . They might not be as high as media says and sawj rightly pointed , but yes they were significant and should have been prevented.
First of all it’s SAWJ, not SWAJ.
The media certainly doesn’t support Musharraf. And I do remember Hamid Mir suggesting Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi as a hero when he was interviewed by the PTV guy, in a burqa. And yes I saw the “enlightened moderate Maulvi and Umme Hassaan” on Capital Talk with Hamid Mir. Not once did he cross-question Umme Hassaan.
For 5 years the media has been constantly bashing Musharraf, they did it before the Lal Masjid fiasco, they did it during it and they continue to do so after it.
Do you have any idea how much fumes 2000 phosphorically burned bodies will produce? Or rather the burning phosphorous will? Unless the military had special equipment to contain the gasses, which seems impossible as to how it got in, those gasses would have spread out over the area and killed the surrounding people. Oxides of phosphorous are extremely toxic.
And if they burned them outside, then again we have the question of how were the 2000 bodies transported out of the compound without anyone noticing.
@ Sana: I have replied to your email.
Swaj
I am sorry.I feel as if I am hurting someone by saying “But anyway ,doesn’t matter if anyone kills mushi or not he would get his due from Divine that is for sure and no one can challenge it .He is not the only one but certainly one of them”
Lets leave this discussion and lets leave the technicalities as I have absolutely no idea about those gases and their impact but as a Muslim i would never even think of throwing a small pebble towards a mosque as it is THe most Sacred place for us but what we saw that on Syed Musharraf’s orders (Syed is what he calls himself) his servents (for me army guys are servents as they cannot question rather they dont have the guts to do it) bombarded Lal MAJID with bullets and other amunition and even entered the Mosque wearing those army boots. What would you say about that and as for the secrecy I dont think ISI’s capability at keeping secretas needs any proof.
@ kashif !
I understand your sentiments regarding the matter , I would once again request sawj also to be rational when it comes to matters of religion . kashif i do understand your point , but you also need to understand this , that the approach of lal masjid clerics was not appropriate , the open show of weaponry was not very wise . They did put up a fight and that too a rather strong one , you might want to call it self defense and it is true in its way , but we also can not deny that what they were doing was not appropriate also ! the mistakes were made from both sides . It is unfair to blame the army only , this is how army operations were , if terrorist seek refuge in the mosque there has to be a way to combat them too and ALLAH understands better. your sentiments are rightly framed but there is point engendering such ante army sentiments also ! because obviously there is always a second side to the story
Kashif, have you heard of Masjid-e-Zarrar? It’s in the Quran.
Rasoolullah (S.A.W.W.) ordered it to be demolished as the masjid had become a centre of activities for Munafiqeen. Not all masjids are as scared as you think.
As for Lal Masjid, that had turned into an ammunition depot and was being run by two munafiqs Abdul Aziz Ghazi, popularly known as the man running away in a veil/burqa from his own creation, the Lal Masjid militants and fighter ladies, and his brother Abdul Rashid Ghazi, who surrendered but was killed in the crossfire between the army and militants, what’s so sacred about it?
And you still didn’t write my name properly!
What about the rest of the black sheeps?
What about Zardari? Nawaz, Altaf, Gilani, pagara, laghari, jatoi, jamali …
let all of them be on that list….
