Lal Masjid and the First Anniversary Bombing

Is that how the terrorist respond to the very people protecting the anniversary taking place on the eve of first anniversary of Lal Masjid operation. I would again held Musharraf as directly responsible for the death of the 15 police officers because it was he who authrised the Lal Masjid operation to make the official sitting in Washington DC happy. Till date Pakistan and Pakistani’s are paying heavy price for his mistakes and i think the people should come out and demand an on the record inquiry into the Lal Masjid incident and the culprits should also be punished in the public at the same site where the Lal Masjid incident took place. The Ghazi brothers who also played an active role in the bloodshed should also be made accountable to the drama and hence given an equal punishment because i believe you can not clap with just one hand. Why they had to brandish weapons and make bunkers inside a mosque? Don’t they know that even loud talk is not appreciated inside a moque while they had the gutts to bring in heavy weapons and other ammunition inside the seminary where thousands of innocent students were based. What was the need for doing something which will risk the lives of thousands of the students? Therefore, i think that the Ghazi brothers are equally responsible for the whole incident and hence the one who is alive deserves equal punishment.

ISLAMABAD, July 6: At least 15 policemen and two other people were killed and more than 40 injured in a suicide attack near the Melody Market on Sunday right after the culmination of the “Lal Masjid Shuhada (martyrs) Conference” held to observe the first anniversary of the military operation against the mosque and seminary.
Several fiery speeches were made at the conference against the authorities responsible for the operation. The attack is being considered a revenge action for the operation in which at least 103 people, including 95 alleged militants or madressah students, were killed in July last year.
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik confirmed the death of seven policemen of Punjab and five of Islamabad, including Sihala SHO Chaudhry Mohammad Safdar.
“It was a suicide bombing in which the attacker targeted security personnel,” the adviser said.
According to unofficial sources, 17 people were killed, 15 of them policemen. About 5kg of explosives was used. (Source: Dawn, Reuters)
