I was reading the daily The News today and i came across this story terming the Khyber Operation an eye wash to impress the visiting US delegation so that Pakistan can get further aid from them. After finishing the article, i was wondering as to which side The News staff actually belongs? Are they Pro Pakistani’s or Pro America? That also made me wonder if Washington Post would have done the same for their country what our media do and i must specifically isolate Jang Group for it. Lately i have personally started associating Jang Group as anti Musharraf but after few recent articles and news, i have brought down their rating to Anti Pakistan rather then anti Musharraf. If you are watching Geo Headlines, you will only get news reports that will give you heart attack because they will project a picture of Pakistan as the most unsafe and most violent countries in the world. They will mention a person killed in any nook and corner of the country but they will never mention any other good news. Did they ever mention the many development projects going on in our country? Did they shed light on the laurels of our fellow Pakistani’s? Or is it that they are on a certain specific mission? Inviting politicians and other people to talk shows and making them fight one another in front of the whole nation is what they want to show to the whole world? Is that the image they are promoting of our country? The answe to all the above questions is “Yes”, because till date we have observed more of negative criticism then any positive critique. I think it is right time that they should start appreciating the good things rather then being too political and revengeful in their dealings. I am not a fan of Musharraf but i will not disgracing him at a public platform when the whole world is watching us. It is not because of the person sitting in the seat of the President but the Post of the President itself because he is President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

you have given a very accurate analysis of the role of the jang group, just wanted to add one thing that they do give the reports of development work in Karachi by city government………

Agreed Zuhair! The MQM thing even applies on ARY One World and it is a right time that we start discussing the negative role of the media in our society. Let them face the reality as well.

i totally agree with u as well but i guess ppl shud also know that zee tv has some rights in Geo channel that is why they tell us one news abt bolly wood among their main news and also they never showed any story abt kashmir …… besides they keep on interviewing ppl who has bad relations with the govt !!!
SAWJ! Our media is exploiting our masses and it is us who have to expose them. These things should not go un checked.

they r not thinking abt pakistan they r scoring their number and making maoney .
i think musharraf had better to impose some restriction on media..they r fulfilling their responsibilties .

when ever i watch news from geo tv ..i always hurt ..i donot why they making compaign against musharraf ..are asif ali zardari and nawaz sharif right person ???
even u can check in free atmosphere of media that the media could not find bank balances , property of musharraf becuase he has not make money and property thats why they can report againast musharaaf ..they r reporting against for presidency resign , war and terror , economy .
in other simple words, musharraf is better than politician ,off course he has enjoyed through power but he has not make money or property just like nawaz sharrif and asif ali zardari …
Geo TV and Jang Group sucks. I wish I could bomb thier Head Quarter, killing every one. I hate thier news coverage of Pakistan. But Inshallah they will not succeed in thier designs.

To be simple, they don’t tell good news because there isn’t any. You want Geo to report a building development in Gawadar as a breaking news when Marriott is on fire? or you want Geo headline to be “Musharraf talked to Uganda’s PM” when someone blow himself up in a funeral ? I am sick of people shouting out loud “I was reading blah blah.. and moral: geo is negative… geo is anti-state”.. rather than giving sophisticated facts.. like “news about abc was sidelined with anti government news”

there are at times when media acts “stupid” rather than “anti-government”.. Like day before yesterday, when Indian media was blasting out us with funny animations and bollywood style movie scripts, geo mentioned “Katrina kaif dont want to work with blah blah.. ” Its more of a stupidity of a news editor.. noway geo or jang can be labeled as an anti-state org..
Its because of this media that now all black sheeps like the current CJ can be exposed.. Khursheed Shah can be caught live stealing electricity.
Even if these arguments can’t cool down your burning asses, you are fee to watch your ever green favorite, the PTV and tune out the news channels you dont wanna see !

They are totally anti pakistan there is no doubt on this subject. They just want Musharraf out because he was stopping them to doing all this crap.
i would like to give one example here!!
We condemn terrorist act where ever and whenever it happens it has to be condemn strongly but on the other hand you have to protect your country and its honor.
what they did in Ajmal Qasab case you all know they showed the whole documentary of the place he is living and took interview of his Parents and mates and on that vary moment there was a breaking news in Indian news channel that GEO has proved that Ajmal Qasab is pakistani national and he lived there as well.
I have 1 question here do you ever brought-forward issues happening in your home to the public even if they are based on fact?????????? i think never but they proudly showed the hidden cam of their parents. I was thinking that government will take action on this but they know that there are other ANTI PAKISTANI politicians who were with them so lets hope for the best!!!!!
