The IT Sector Of Pakistan Is Growing; Is It Developing Also?
|
“Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has reached the figure of USD 175 million annual IT exports during the financial year 2007-08 about USD 13 million more than the USD 162 million target set for the said year.”, says a recent press release. It’s definitely a good sign to have achieved such a target, but still there are few things that need the core attention, out of which the infrastructure development is of greater concern. I was just searching for the major determinants of infrastructure development, and have ended up with old familiar stuff, i.e. Financial assistance, human capital, technology etc etc…… But I think there’s a most important determinant that’s what we call ‘Entrepreneurship’. I may be wrong, as in many cases it not be as I’m thinking, but with specific reference to the growth of IT sector in Pakistan, and maintaining standards within there, entrepreneurship is the core factor of infrastructure development. I don’t mean that entrepreneurship is lacking in Pakistan, it just needs a little polishing, and you’ll find the most brilliant people here. Now m’ stuck at something and that is; who will do that polishing stuff? Is PSEB responsible for that, Ministry of IT, educational institutes, or…… or who else…….! Trying to figure out this and will appreciate if readers can help me finding a clue! |

IT sector is yes growing in pakistan but we need a little more speed and for that In my point of view each of institution you have just mentioned are responsible. Output only increases when input increases.
I think we lack initiative! But lately things are changing and more and more local initiatives are being taken by our talented Pakistani’s and we should all encourage them.
Totally agreed Junaid! Encouragement can play a vital role!
