President Karzai and His Blame Game

Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his intelligence agnecies have blamed Pakistan for the Apil assassination bid on his life. They claim that Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is behind all these acts taking place inside Afghanistan.

I wonder why they blame Pakistan for all such acts when they themselves know that if the assassination attempt was launched by our intelligence agencies, am sure Hamiz Karzai won’t have survived. I have trust in our ISI for being competent enough not to execute such failed and ill planned move. Our ISI is a professional organization lead by a Military General who work in conformity with our foreign policy and our foreign policy is very clear on non interference in the internal matters of foreign countries. Till date no solid proof has been shown by the Afghan intelligence agencies except for sim data tracing calls to Pakistan. Since we all know that Hamiz Karzai himself lived in Pakistan and that till date 4 million Afghan Refugees still reside in Pakistan so a call from Afghanistan to Pakistan is not a reason enough to blame our intelligence agencies.

I think Afghan Intelligence agencies should invest some time in getting professional training rather then just blaming their neighbour for all their problems. Pakistan do deserve alot of appreciation for it’s sacrifices for Afghanistan. Today we are facing the internal strife because of our War for Afghanistan and for hosting Hamid Karzai and his family in Pakistan as our brohters.

KABUL, June 25: Afghanistan’s intelligence agency on Wednesday accused its Pakistani counterpart, ISI, of masterminding an assassination bid on President Hamid Karzai in April.
The Afghan president survived the April 27 attack at the annual military parade, but three Afghans were killed, one of them a parliamentarian.
Sayed Ansari, spokesman for the national intelligence agency, said his organisation believed Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence was involved.
“The investigations, the documents we found and the confession of suspects arrested show the real schemer and organiser … of the terrorist attack is the ISI,” he told reporters.
The statement came a day after Mr Karzai’s spokesman made a similar accusation.
“Evidence shows the hallmark of a particular foreign intelligence agency which we believe was behind this attack,” Karzai’s spokesman Homayun Hamidzada said on Tuesday, citing an investigation into the incident. He refused to name the foreign country or the spy organisation.
However, Mr Ansari claimed cell phones seized from the rebels involved in the attack showed the militants had “constant contacts” with bases across the border with Pakistan.
The spokesman said eight of the 16 people arrested over suspected links to the attackers were government employees. He did not give details, but authorities had earlier said a defence ministry weapons expert and a police nurse were arrested for allegedly facilitating the attack.
Pakistan denies that its intelligence agencies have links to the insurgents. (Source:Dawn)

I’m amazed that you can make this comment with a straight face. Pakistan has actively interfered in the affairs of Afghanistan for decades in order to benefit from an unstable political situation there. The ISI has committed countless political assasinations both in Pakistan as well as thorugh its agents inside Afghanistan. Do you really deny the role of Pakistan in the assasination of President Najibullah? Or in the emergerence of the Taliban? I am no fan of Karzai, and his accusing others of events resulting from his own weakness and impotency inspires no sympathy from me. However, I strongly suggest, for your own good, that you to read some of your own history instead of repeating the same ***** rah-rah Pakistan nationalistic ****.

So we at least agree that Karzai is doing blame game! That was the main point!
