Increasing pollution at karachi beaches
|
The self expanatory pictures quite profoundly illustrate the condition of beaches in karachi. This is a view of one of the most relatively isolated sides of the beach near maripur . Due to high tides the water moves ahead at night and comes back in the day time. In the meanwhile most of the content of the water is expelled out , and thus the pictures show the expelled pollution littering around the beach. The number of polythene bags evident in the picture shows how its still being used widely , despite of high risks of pollution and other health related issues. Our media seems too busy provoking an outburst and senseless uncertainties among the nation to actually think about the worsening conditions in Karachi with regards to pollution . This is only a glimpse of the actual damage being done to the real assets of the country . Shame on us ! and shame on our dummy little Government for ignoring the issue and us for not taking a strong initiative . A verse from Surah Rehman in the end would suit or situations better: And which of the blessings of your lord will you denie ? |

yuck!!! y the hell ppl dont take responsibility by themselves?
Trust me mansoor this is JUST A MERE GLIMPSE! , this is a side with people coming for ‘family picnics’ because this side has huts and everything . Can you imagine the conditions at the public side l ’sea view’ ?? , where you actually have over 5 dozen people everyday?. Its getting worse every now and then !
hmmm all my desire to see the Karachi beach is gone now! Mansoor i think we should stick with our plan to visit Khunjarab pass
I think more environment conscious people visiting the site will be beneficial rather than totally ignoring it . We need people to work on this and make it right as it is our duty to preserve what has been granted by ALLAH

hmmm! I think the students of different institutions of Karachi should set a week to clean the site and educate the tourists visiting the beaches. I am sure an exercise like this will change the mindset of the people in an year or so!
If there is any volunteer society in Karachi for this purpose, let us know and we can work on this idea together!
Students from various schools colleges and universities have done a lot on many levels but this need consistency! you cant jus clean it one say and go back home you need to appoint people allocate funds and make a separate department which handles this ! this needs serious strategic attention ! I think a petition should be filed or something on a large scale
,what ever we see is because of public which include you,us,and all.How many of you/us have thrown garbage, when go with friends and family.Just dont blame Govt. as many of you are just x$#@. who just know to crtisize govt or others but not look in their own ??
Najeeb i think you should read the small post again ! it says SHAME ON US ? and I obviously know and am aware of the stereotypical blame game on the govt ! so don’t worry about that , as a matter of fact if you would please read our teams discussions on this post , we are actually planning on doing something , even a petition filed by students after a cleaning week or month which requests the govt to maintain our efforts is not a wrong thing . I was thinking in a more long term an sustainable way . If you are a karachiite you would know about the numerable times campaigns have been conducted and the position comes back to normal after a few days and if students distributes some brochures for awareness well well well they can be available the next day , but not redistributed but with the channay wala bhaye at sea view :).
