Islam has Only one School of thought and That is the Quran
Only One Place for guidance and that is the Quran
Only one place for law and that is the Quran
Only one Place for knowledge and that is the Quran
1- The Quran commands all Muslims to follow the Quran Alone, this command is found in numerous verses, the following are examples:

"These are God's revelations that We recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe?" 45:6

"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?" 6:114

2- The Quran confirms that the only Sunna is the Sunna of God. No where in the Quran is there any mention of Sunna't Muhammad!!!!

"You will find that the Sunna of Allah is the only Sunna" (33:62....35:43.....48:23)

3- The Quran confirms that the only duty of Muhammad (or of any messenger) is to deliver God's message, and not to teach any other teachings.

"The only duty of the messenger is to deliver God's message" 5:99 (also in 5:92.... 16:35.......16:82.....24:54.......29:18.....42:48.......64:12)

4- God commands the believers to obey the prophet, but God also makes sure that the obedience to the prophet is linked to obeying the message he delivered and nothing else. Obeying the prophet does not mean that he had a Sunna to be obeyed.

The confirmation that the obedience of the prophet is linked to obeying the message he delivered (the Quran) is confirmed in the following verse:

"Obey God and obey the messenger. If you shall turn away then the sole of the messenger is to deliver the message (the Quran)" 64:12

Note how the obedience to the prophet and the deliverance of the Quran are linked in the same verse.

5- You will never read any where in the Quran words like "Obey God and obey Muhammad" or obey Jesus, or Moses..........always the word messenger........that is to emphasise that what is to be obeyed is the message of God and not the personal words of any messenger.

6- The Quran also confirms that Muhammad was commanded not to teach any other teachings, otherwise he would incur severe punishment from God:

"It (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the universe. Had he (Muhammad) uttered any other teachings, We would have grabbed him by the right, and We would have severed his Wateen (Major artery of the heart), none of you could have helped him." 69:43-47

7- Muhammad was made to swear that the only revelation he received from God was the Quran. The following verse confirms that all what is known as (Hadith Qodsy) are lies that the prophet is innocent of:

"Say (O Muhammad) what is of the greatest testimony? Say: God is the witness between me and you, and this Quran has been inspired to me, that I may warn you and whomever it reaches" 6:19

If the hadith Al-Qodsy was truly God speaking to Muhammad as they falsely claim would'nt the verse carry a testimony to that ???

Nowhere in the Quran is there any indication that Muhammad received from God anything other than the Quran.

8- Prophet Muhammad himself commanded his people not to write his hadith, this is documented in Muslim and other books:

"Do not write down anything of me except the Quran. Whoever writes other than that should delete it" (Ahmed, Vol. 1, page 171.....also Sahih Muslim)

9- For the first 150 years to 200 years after the death of the prophet the writing of his hadith was forbidden, in accordance with his commands. The first one to document a comprehensive collection of hadith was Al-Bukhari (Note that Al-Bukhari was born in the year 198 After Hijrah..........does that make you think????)

Even if we were to follow the hadith, how accurate can a collection of sayings documented two centuries after the death of the prophet be?????

10- God commands the prophet in the Quran to say that he is infallible in the revelation he delivers, but that he may commit errors in his personal words and hadith:

"Say:If I err , I err because of my shortcomings, and if I am rightly guided it is due to the revelation I receive from my Lord" 34:50

11- The Quran confirms that for every prophet there will be enemies of the devils of humans and jinns who will fabricate fancy sayings and attribute them to the prophet to deceive the people:

"We have permitted the enemies of every prophet, human and jinn devils, to inspire in each other fancy sayings, in order to deceive" 6:112

God also asserts that only the disbelievers will listen to such fabrications (see 6:113)

12- Finally, we are told that the Quran is totally sufficient for the genuine believer for the following reasons:

A- The Quran is not in need of an annex since it is complete:

"The word of your Lord is complete in truth and justice" 6:115

B- The Quran is not in need of an explanatory supplement since it is clear and is not ambiguous:

"A.L.R. These are the signs of the clear book" 12:1

"We have made it (the Quran) easy to understand and in your own tongue (language) may you take heed." 44:58

C- The Quran is not in need of a correction manual since it is perfect and harbours no contradictions:

"A.L.R. This is a book whose verses have been perfected" 11:1

D- The Quran is not in need of a step by step guide since it is fully detailed:

"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?" 6:114

For all these reasons, all Muslims should

follow the Quran, the whole Quran and

nothing but the Quran.

PRAISE GOD

When the prophet Muhammed died, he left behind only ONE book, the Quran. The ONLY book that the prophet Muhammed followed was the Quran.

Those who follow the Quran are following the Prophet Muhammed , those who are following the alleged Hadith and Sunna are not following the Prophet but following those who wrote these books. Following anybody but God's commandments in the Quran, is idol-worship. Idol-worship is the only unforgivable sin, if maintained tell death. Good intentions do not help, many idol-worshipers will face God on the Day of Judgment not realizing what they were doing , their intentions will not help them then, read for yourself 6:22-24.

Let us follow the Prophet by following his message that God calls, complete, perfect and has detailed explanation for everything (12:111), the Glorious Quran.

@ Brother Muhammad Yusha

Islam has only one school of thought and that is the school of thought of the Prophet (pbuh). Even if you follow a different school of thought you should still call yourself a Muslim and not of any school of thought

@ Brother Omer

That is not question one could answer in a few lines, but follow me for a second and you will eventually grab on to my train of thought. These people who talk about Prophet (pbuh) think from their dirty mind and have no knowledge of Islam at all. Here are a few pointers

1. The Hadiths regarding Prophet Muhammad and Hazrat Ayesha mostly come from Hazrat Ayesha (ra) herself

2. If it was wrong then the whole of Arabia would have had a problem with it but none of them did. Means it was common at that time.

3. Prophet did not have 13 wives for pleasure, there were mostly to give refuge to widows. If I remember correctly 7 out of 13 were widows.

4. Muslim men are allowed to marry 4 women and after that they can not where as in every other religion there is no limit. Divorce is common and mistresses are very common in their culture.

5. If they say that the Prophet (pbuh) was a pedophile then how come no historian till today had a problem with it till now ?

This was a very common practice at that time and the marriage was legal by the will of Hazrat Ayesha, She was purposes at 9 but was married at 13 (check on that). I am pretty sure I remember it correctly :)

Dear. I have been searching for a site like this for almost 6 days. Now 3 months have passed since I faced this question from non muslims from various threads and couldn't answer them satisfactorily. I will appreciate anyone's help. Many people ask was it morally right for Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to marry a nine year old Aisah Siddiqa May God be pleased with her. They also accuse him Nao zubillah of being a child molester. My own question is that was it an exceptional case of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him. That is it right to make a law that any girl who reaches puberty will be allowed to marry according to this action of our beloved Prophet. Or will it be right to say it was an exceptional case like the 13 marriages of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him where as Quran says 4 marriages at one time is allowed? What should be the minimum legal age of women for marriage in Islam. What verses of Quran of what Ahadidth will tell the minimum legal age. Even if ijtihad is done what books and sources are necessary to reach a conclusion? Thridly if somehow the conclusion reaches that a nine year old is ok to marry. Then I ask a question that is it right biologically. If a girl reaches puberty in the age of 10. Will it be right for her to marry. Will she be able to run a family. Will she be right to guide her children when she would herself be a child? These questions are very important. If anyone can answer these with references and a comprehensive discussion I will appreciate it. Please help its very important.

All sects are not schools of thought. You are totally confused. Maliki, shafi, hanafi and hanbali are achools of thought. Qadianis, shias, boris, zikris, barelvis etc are sects, non-muslims who want to follow their own version of Islam. Some of them don't even believe in Prophet Mohammad. Now you tell me, if a person does not believe in the second part of the kalimah
Mohammadur Rasullulah, is he a muslim?

Dr. Zakir Naik is not an alim. His knowledge comes from books. There are 4 schools of thought which cover all the sunnahs of Prophet Mohammad. As i gave my example earlier, Prophet Mohammad put his hand in prayer in 4 different ways. The 4 schools of thought cover the 4 different ways. If everyone started putting their hand in prayer in one position then 3 sunnahs will get wiped from this earth. If tomorrow Dr. Zakir Naik tells me it is okay to jump from the top of a building i will not follow what he says blindly.

The reason why i have to call mself a sunni muslim instead of just a muslim is to differenciate myself from the firqa(sect) people.

Brother Mohammad, Islam does not allow sects, and being a Sunni is no exception to the rule =)

First and for most, a person belonging a sect is not a non-muslim, there is a single Surah in the Quran that says if a person belongs to a sect he is a non-muslim nor have I read in any Hadith. If you know any hadith, please let me know.

Secondly, I agree that malaki, hanafi, shafi and hanabli are school of thoughts but arent all sects different school of thoughts ? What is the difference between Shia's, Sunni's, Wahabis and e.t.c. They difference of thought. I know what your trying to state is that they are all sunnat's of the Prophet that those 4 follow but that is still a division between muslim which is not suppose to be there =).

Plus the Glorious clearly says, call yourself a Muslim so why call yourself a Sunni or hanabli ?

I hope I have answered your quiries

It doesn't matter whether a person is hanafi, shafi, hanbali or maliki. They are all following the sunna of Prophet. It does matter if a person is not sunni

a person makes a sect when he does not want to follow Islam. It is when a person wants to mold Islam according to his desires. A person belonging to some sect is a non-muslim. He is a mushrik.

Waqas, you are confused with the 4 schools of thought and Sects. maliki, hanafi, shafi and hanbali are not sects. They all follow the sunna of Prophet. Let me give you an example. In prayer, Prophet Mohammad kept his hands in 4 different positions. Now, if everyone follows one position, then 3 sunnahs will get wiped out. We do follow the schools of thought. I'm sunni and hanafi.
