Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Asif has been arrested at Duabi airport for possessing small quantity of opium, which was found in his wallet. The Dubai officials will present him before magistrate soon to take further action. Pakistan Cricket Board has already hired a lawyer to help his case. The Dubai officials have also conducted several tests to check if he has been using drugs.

If the test proved him to be using the drugs, this will be a big embarassment for Pakistan and its cricket team. Till this time, Asif has disowned the opium and said he is unaware about their presence in his wallet.

This comes under drug trafficking. Deserves to be put in prison according to law and banned from cricket. I’m just trying to find out why did he chose to travel from India to Pakistan via Dubai!!! Doesn’t make sense! And he can easily find opium/hashish in Pakistan so going to Dubai has some weight!
