Pakistan 10th Anniversary of Going Nuclear
|
i was looking forward to see if some blogs mention about Pakistan 10th anniversary of going nuclear. Ten years ago on 28th May, 1998, Pakistan became the first country in the Islamic world to become a nuclear power after testing its nuclear weapons in response to Indian nuclear tests. Today after 10 years, the father of Pakistan Atomic program is under house arrest and has been disgraced in the public. Is this how we reward patriotic Pakistani’s? Details about Pakistan nuclear program can be found on GlobalSecurity website. |

Yes because that same Father of the Nuclear Program sold the country’s nuclear secret to Iran, Libya and North Korea. Such patriotism!
Imagine the humiliation Musharraf must’ve faced when the CIA chief gave him drawings of Pakistani centrifuges found in Iran, Libya or North Korea, on his visit to America.
Accounts of this are given in the books of both Musharraf and the resigned CIA director(I forget his name but you can find it in Mush’s book), both with different views but same outcome.
The link that you have included confirms this my friend.
SAWJ! I am sure you got the answer in the statement of the Dr Qadeer appearing today in the Dawn so now whom you are going to trust? Musharraf? Or Qadeer? I bet with the past record full of lies told to the nation and to media and which are not a secret to anyone, i will never trust Musharraf and will go with Qadeer.
I hope we realize that Musharraf has done nothing for us and i don’t appreciate Zardari as well. He is as much the same as Musharraf
Then who do you appreciate, Nawaz Sharif? Or Iftikhar Chauhdry? You must know about the attack on the Supreme Court orchestrated by Nawaz on 28th Nov 1997. Why don’t Aitzaz Ahsan and Iftikhar Chauhdry remind Nawaz of his doing and force him to pay for his actions first, before Musharraf? Or the media, for that matter, which can easily search the past to fling dirt on anyone pro-Mush, forget to remind Nawaz of it? This only means none of them are sincere to Pakistan.
So you are ready to believe Abdul Qadeer just on a single statement, when the whole world knows that he sold nuclear technology to N. Korea, Iran and Libya, compromising the sovereignty and security of Pakistan for a few bucks?
The lies of Mush were brought to you by the same media above, the media that specializes in turning heroes to villains and villains to heroes. It turned Saddam Husain into a hero, it failed to even recognize Maqbool Husain’s patriotism.
Agreed SAWJ! Nawaz Sharif violated the law and so are others but i think i am not defending them here either. And i agree with you that media do play the negative role in Pakistan but the same media also made Abdul Qadeer the villain.
I don’t think anyone will buy the argument that Abdul Qadeer alone had the authority to sell such sensitive material to the long list of countries. There are other factors involved whose mentioning might harm the interests of the country. That is why Abdul Qadeer even declined to divulge much of the secrets, which Pakistan can not afford.
And do think on the fact that you are accusing media for its bias but where else you got the information about Abdul Qadeer Khan? You quoted former CIA Chief and Musharraf book which i think are themselves full of lies.
The one which was openly brought to light was Mushrraf statement about his position in his course in PMA and which was highlighted by none other then Gen Ali Quli Khan in his full pager contradiction of Musharraf lies in the daily The News. Ali Quli openly challenged him to bring out the army record to verify his claim and no one ever saw any evidence presented by Musharraf or his aides in that regard. If a person can even lie about his position in PMA, what else you expect from him? He promised us all in a televised speech appearing on none other channel but PTV in which he made promises to the nation and broke them. No one is ever short of any excuses so it doesn’t matter what ever excuse he made as he shouldn’t have made any promises at all.
Anyways, i never appreciate Saddam Hussain but i also not appreciate the American occupation of Iraq.
I don’t appreciate the American occupation either.
The media has constantly presented Abdul Qadeer as a hero not a villain. If Ali Quli is right, then why didn’t Jahangir Karamat aide him in his defense against Musharraf? What position in PMA did Musharraf lie about? You can’t believe in Musharraf, you can’t believe in the CIA chief, you can’t believe in the media, why do you believe in Abdul Qadeer? After all, he can be lying through his teeth too.
Hmm! I suppose you yourself said media lies and i have no doubt about Musharraf and CIA director passing wrong statements.
Ali Quli statement was strong enough and hence didn’t need any aide! No one challenged him at all even the Musharraf against whom it was directed.
No statement is strong enough to not need any proof. Ali Quli, instead of challenging Musharraf, should have exposed him directly. But he did not. That would lead me to assume that it was a farce.
I think i said the same! Its not a court of justice
So one can’t trust anyone?
In case of Musharraf! yes we cant trust him
A partisan view, ofcourse…
By the way you might have seen what the General said yesterday on the Geo about Musharraf and his actions. I am sure now that his comrade is speaking, people who were having doubts would clear them up. I am sure we won’t blame media for the statement of 22 retired generals who served in the Musharraf era.
Gulzar Kiyani who got kicked in the **** and turned on his own master? Why did he do this after serving as the Corps Commander of the all-sensitive Rawalpindi Corps shortly after the 1999 coup and then later serving as the Chairman of Federal Public Service Commission, from which he was recently removed? Why speak up when you have been removed from the luxuries of a good job, eh?
Funny how his timing coincides with the Nawaz’s attempts to get back at Musharraf, doesn’t it?
Why are these people speaking up against Mush now when Nawaz Sharif needs them the most and the Mush-haters are desperate to get him out of office?
If they really had been sincere they would have spoken up without fear when the events were taking place. But no, they did not. That means they are corrupt to the bone themselves and cannot be trusted.
