Musharraf should Quit
|
The worst thing about Pakistani politicians is that their actions can’t be predicted. Politics in Pakistan has never reached the stage of maturity and till date our democracy has not settled. Hearing the stories of how our common people are suffering and looking at our economic situation, i wonder if our leaders even have slightest sanity of mind? Or are they too much interested in saving their own fortunes and power houses to care for the ordinary people? I know one thing and that is that when our country is in trouble, our leaders, with their great fortunes and deep connections in the foreign capitals, will be gone and will leave us to face the worst times. And if we ever came out of these worst times, they will be the first one to take credit for everything and come back to claim the victory. The problem with us, being the ordinary citizens of Pakistan, is that we will still welcome them with flowers and garland them for what we have done for ourselves and to which no credit can be given to anyone else. The actions of our politicians can only be judged by the history and till date we all are witness to the fact that we never got a good leader. Can you imagine that in the past 60 years, a nation never got any one who is sincere with his own country and his people? I wonder will we ever wake up to the reality and start working for a change? I wrote this blog after reading the statement of Mr. Zardari who recently took a U turn on his stance about Musharraf. I don’t know what promoted him to take this U turn but i can only hope that the end result is good and its for the betterment of our country rather then the personal ambitions of our so called leaders ISLAMABAD: Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari Saturday said the President Pervez Musharraf should step down voluntarily if he (President) wants to avert impeachment. Addressing a press conference after the PPP’s Central Executive Committee here, Asif Zardari said his party never accepted General Musharraf as the constitutional President of the country. |
