China Earthquake - Pakistan Send Further Aid

It is a a very good sign that Pakistan is helping its friendly neighboring country China in their hour of need with open arms. As widely reported today, the China Earthquake related deaths have crossed the 55000 mark and is expected to rise further. This is the second biggest disaster China has faced in decades and the generous help that the People of Pakistan are sending to China will be long remembered.

KARACHI, May 23 (APP)- A cargo plane-load of 14,000 tents and other relief goods for the quake-affected people of China left Karachi on Friday. Chairman of the National Disaster management Authority (NDMA) Lt. Gen. (Retd) Farooq Ahmed who was among those present on the occasion said the government of Pakistan has donated 20,000 tents.Another consignment of 6,000 tents has been dispatched by road from Islamabad. Six flights carrying relief goods would also leave from Islamabad, while a 28-member medical team would also leave from Islamabad. (Source: Dawn)
